Hansol

"You like her."

"What!?" Hansol yelled, regretting it immediately as he covered his mouth looking around at the unwanted attention he caught from the other boys .

"I don't like her, she's my best friend, that's all." Hansol tried to assure him.

So many thoughts rushed through his head making him dizzy. That can't be right, can it? He shook his head, no that would be weird, right?

"Wh-why do you think that Hoshi hyung?" Hansol asked trying to collect his thoughts together.

"The way you talk about her, which is a lot by the way," he joked. "It's just, it's like full of love. You smile brighter, your eyes have a little twinkle. It's quite cute actually." Hoshi chuckled.

"She's my best friend though, of course I talk about her like that." Hansol defended.

"Well just now too, when you explained to me what was worrying you. Everything you said, the way you felt, it's how I feel when I like someone."

Hansol stared at the elder, complete bewilderment etched onto his face.

"But she's my best friend.." he said quietly.

"That's exactly why you've fallen for her, she's your best friend. No one knows you better than she does and no one gets along with you as much as she does." Hoshi paused, a smirk forming on his lips. "Plus, she's pretty cute." He chuckled.

"Hey!" Hansol said angrily.

"Jealous?" Hoshi teased the younger boy.

"No." He defended sternly. "I'm just... protective." Hansol huffed crossing his arms.

Hansol went into deep thought. Hana had always been his closest companion and he knew that he cherished her deeply, he always had and he always would.

He thought about when they first met. He had spotted the same small girl sitting alone on the swing set for the fifth time in a row now. He felt bad that she was always on her own while the other kids played with each other, but there was also something about her that pulled him in. Hansol did not expect their relationship to grow as it did. The most he expected was that they might hang out a couple times at the park. But there was something about her that attracted him so much, that let them get along as well as they did.

He remembered growing up with her, losing teeth together, learning to swim, matching casts from that time Hana fell from the monkey bars and so she didn't feel embarrassed he fell right after her. Their entrance into elementary school, middle school, and till the day he left her behind.

The lead up to the day he left had been nothing but exciting to the both of them. They talked endlessly about what he would do, who he would meet, future possibilities - realistic and not. Hana would joke about him getting arrogant when he's famous. "Just don't forget about me okay." She would say. "Never." Hansol smiled.
He would never realise when it came to the day he had to go, just how hard it would be to say goodbye. He had spent a good amount of years with her up until that point, and he had finally come to the realisation that they wouldn't be able to see each other everyday or communicate constantly.

He wanted to cry when they said their goodbye but Hana wouldn't let him. He stood in front of her door, head facing the ground, hands clenched into tight fists as he fought back the tears. Hana placed her hands on each cheek and brought his face up to hers. She had the warmest smile on her face that day. One that made him feel like everything would be okay, that he didn't need to feel so sad. With that one smile, everything was alright again. He leaned against her left hand, cupping it with his large hand. He smiled warmly back at her.

Hansol thought about how her touch felt back then, how it spread warmth through the rest of his body. How her smile instantly made him feel at ease.

Maybe I was too young to take notice then?

He compared it to a month ago when he slept over at her house. When she opened the door to him his heart fluttered from not seeing her for so long. He loved that that same smile lit up from finally seeing him, from finally having him back if only for a little while. It made him smile to see her happy and it gave him this feeling of always wanting to make her feel this way. She treated him exactly how she always did, laughed at his lame jokes and looked after him.
He felt the spark run through his fingertips when their hands would brush. He felt it run down his spine when she hugged him after all that time. Her scent so delicate and inviting, it had always been his favourite smell.

She had always been his favourite everything.

He thought back to how they had both fallen asleep on the couch after watching Harry Potter movies. He woke up first, noticing a small weight against him. Looking to his right, he saw Hana sleeping soundlessly. The blanket covering right up to her chin, her head resting on his shoulder, hand loosely gripping onto his arm, and hair disheveled in the cutest way that he couldn't help but smile at the sight in front of him. He couldn't stop the thought that he would have no argument against waking up like this every morning.

I can't believe it, he thought to himself. All this time and I had never realised.

"I can't believe I've been this blind for so long."

"Blind about what?"

Hansol's head shot up quickly in noting a difference in voices. Boo seungkwan sat next to Hoshi, one eyebrow raised.

"Hansol's been having girl problems." Hoshi teased, answering seungkwan's question.

"Has he still not figured out he likes Hana?" Seungkwan said casually.

"Wait, what?" Hansol said confused.

Seungkwan shrugged his shoulders. "It's obvious."

"Why didn't you tell me sooner!" Hansol complained.

"Though it was best you figured it out on your own... wait does that mean you've figured out your feelings?!" Seungkwan shouted excitedly.

Hansol sighed. "Yes, I have figured out my feelings.

"And that is..." Seungkwan egged on.

"That I.. I like Hana."

"Woozi hyung!" Seungkwan yelled making the shorter boy turn around from a few metres away, an annoyed look on his face. "I won!! Hansol said it."

Hansol looked between the two in confusion, watching as Woozi made his way over to the trio.

"Hansol realised he liked Hana, you owe me a meal." Seungkwan pointed at Hansol.

"Ahh I didn't think he'd realise for another couple of months." Woozi sighed.

"Wait, you made a bet on me. Does everyone know about this?" Hansol asked.

"Pretty much." Seungkwan said. "You're kind of clueless, but if it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty sure Hana likes you too."

"Wait what?!" Hansol went into shock.

"Aish you're as thick as each other." Woozi shook his head
