Redeem [K.M]

After school Mia went down to the forest where she knew no one would follow her. The forest was the one place she could be free without someone catching her in the act of doing magic.  Jessica came with her despite telling her how dangerous it could be. 

She loved to see Mia do magic even if she wasn't reciting it. 

"Watch, there's a hill on the other side of the tree." Mia told her, this was the first time Mia had took her to the woods. It was Mia's special spot, and for some reason she felt drawn to this spot. 

I held Jessie's hand as we scaled down the slope. I've tripped down this hill so many times that it's ridiculous. 

"It's up ahead." They reached the bottom of the hill and began to walk on flat land. 

There was a few logs standing up near a camp fire.  Mia set my bag down and so did Jessie. Mia then glanced at the fireplace to get it to start but not get to big. 

"So what are we doing?" Jessie asked her and Mia looked at her. She began to pull things out of her bookbag. 

"Getting in my head." She mumbled,"Someone said they were coming for me and I intend to find out who." Mia's hand brushed the ground and felt a disturbance.  She could feel the foot steps. 

"But Mia-" Mia held up my hand and jumped up. 

"Get behind me." She snapped to Jessie and her friend looked scared but listened. 

"What's going on." She whispered in her best friends ear.

"Someone's here." Mia shot back at her,"Show yourself!" She called out.

Mia didn't have enhanced hearing but she could feel a presence. Mia had put a spell on the land to let her know when someone approached. 

No one spoke, and the tension built up and up,"I'll call Kol." Jessie stuttered and struggled to pull out her phone. 

Mia crouched down as Jessie began to tell Kol where they were. She let her finger tips run on the soil. The person wasn't moving. 

"Mia." Jessie mumbled,"Kol said not to do any-"

Jessie was cut off by Mia hitting the ground and jumping up again. Mia took off with Jessie running after her. 

She rounded a tree and stopped. Someone laid dead on the ground. Their heart ripped from their chest. Jessie screamed at the dead body while Mia went more alert. There was another vampire here. 

"I know you can hear me." Mia yelled out again,"Come face me you coward!" 

She felt someone zoom past her, they were toying with her. She grabbed Jessie, knowing they would grab her if given the chance. Mia casted a protection spell on Jessie and let go of her. 

"Why would I need to hide?" A strong male voice called out to her.

"Why would you need to send messages though my head!" Mia yelled and spun around.

He appeared out of nowhere and Mia sent him in pain to the ground. He looked familiar to her but she didn't let her emotions get in her way.

"Mia!" She heard Kol's voice yelled out. 

"Over here!" She yelled out and kept the man pinned. He zoomed over and froze.

"Nik?" Mia let go of him at the sound of Kol's voice. The man zoomed off. 

"Who was that?" Mia asked Kol. 

"That was my brother. Your mothers boyfriend." Kol turned and looked at Jessie.

"Please don't compel me." She cried. 

"I won't darling. Let's get you home." Kol grabbed Mia and Jessies arm. He zoomed them back to his home. 

"Now tell me why in the bloody hell were you in the woods?" Kol snapped as they walked into the house.

"Someone told me they were coming for me. A message in my head." Jessie walked into the living room and sat down, clearly shaken up. 

Devina came in and grabbed my head,"This might hurt." 

She began to recite a spell that I didn't recognized. I had a massive headache and it was dark. 

"Mia." Mia opened her eyes to a white hallway.

"Whose there?" Mia call out as her name repeated and repeated.

"This way." A door flew open. Mia being herself, she walked towards it. It was her at the group home. The one kid had stole her her doll and she burned her. 

"This is where I first grew my love for you."  Mia heard her mothers voice. It was clear who was sending the messages. 

"Mommy?" Mia let a tear slip from her face. She quickly whipped it off. 

"I'm here." Mia felt a hand touch her shoulder . She went to turn around and she no longer saw the scene. 

She saw Devina, Kol, and Jessie. 

"No! What the hell is wrong with you!" She yelled,"She was right there." 

"Who was?" Kol asked his niece.

"My mom!" She cried,"She showed me, the orphanage and touched me." 

"What?" Kol stumbled back like a force had hit him while Devina stared at the girl.

"Thats impossible." She muttered to herself.

"Shes in that stone Freya has. Not a bloody realm." Kol hit the wall and his hand went straight though it. Jessie shook afraid of how they all woild react.

"She's somewhere she can contact me.  That means something." Mia rubbed her eyes,"Send me back Devina."

"I didn't do anything. You passed out." She looked sadly at the teenager.

Mia let out a sharp scream and a explosion happened from the table. The house shook and all the lights went out. A small fire was the only light produced.
