[trigger warning: angst, suicide
Italics = Yamaguchi's note]Dear Tsukki,
Tsukkishima walked to school alone that day because Yamaguchi had said that he had something to take care of before school, and not to wait up.
I'm sorry.
He found the note in his school locker.
I just couldn't handle it anymore.
His eyes widened in shock and fear as he read the words.
I couldn't keep going through the motions.
They were written in Yamaguchi's beautiful hand, but they were smudged.
It just hurt too much.
The page was tear-stained, and slightly wrinkled at the corners.
The bullying.
When he finished reading the note, he dropped everything.
The constant fear.
He left the school.
You were the only light in my miserable life.
He ran to Yamaguchi's house.
But it started to hurt, seeing you every day.
He ran as fast as he could.
It hurt because I knew you would never feel the same way about me that I did about you.
The headphones that hung around his neck beat rhythmically against it with every frenzied step.
Because I'm weak, and I'm useless.
He was gasping for breath.
And I'm not even good-looking to make up for it.
He felt tears streaming down his cheeks.
And I always annoy you.
He didn't know when he'd started crying, but he didn't care.
People told me I should just drop dead.
The door to Yamaguchi's house was locked, but he broke it open, desperate to get inside.
So that's what I'm going to do.
He threw open every door in the house.
I want you to know that it's not your fault.
He checked room after room, but they were all empty.
You did nothing to cause this.
Until he came to the locked door of Yamaguchi's bedroom.
And there was nothing you could've done to prevent it either.
He kicked in the door, and that's where Tsukkishima found his best friend.
I love you.
Yamaguchi's wrists were bleeding from several deep cuts.
I have for a long time.
Tsukki stood in the doorway for a moment, frozen in shock, before he came to his senses.
I'm sorry Tsukki, I can't help it.
He rushed to Yamaguchi's side. The shorter boy didn't seem to be breathing.
I love you with my whole heart.
His once sparkling green eyes were open, glassy, staring without sight at Tsukkishima as the tall blonde boy's tears splashed onto his face.
I hope you can forgive me.
Clinging to a desperate hope, Tsukkishima searched for a pulse, but found none.
For ending my life, and for loving you.
The freckled boy's skin was already beginning to turn cold.
Gomen, Tsukki.
Tsukkishima held his best friend close to his chest, sobbing. "You idiot, Yamaguchi," he choked through his tears.
Goodbye.
"I love you too," he whispered. "I always have."
Sincerely yours,
Tsukkishima pulled out his phone and called an ambulance. He was still cradling his friend's body when it came to take him to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Yamaguchi Tadashi
Tsukkishima was never the same after that. He never loved again. He never made another friend. And he never forgot the kind, beautiful boy that had meant the world to him, and then had taken his world away.

I'm sorry 😣. I realized that most of my stories were fluff with happy endings, and that I don't write a lot of this sort of stuff, so I decided to give it a try. You may not believe me anymore, but I love y'all.
