Arriving at lunch again, the boy sat at his table by the window, once again alone. He took out his book and ate slowly while reading it.
"Ahem."
The boy pulled his nose out of the book, and faced the person who was disrupting his reading. It was the girl once again.
"Hi? May I help you?" The boy cleared his throat and pushed out his words.
The girl smiled, "Can I sit here today again?"
The boy raised his eyebrows, "Considering you just sat here yesterday without asking me before hand, I don't think it's my choice to whether or not you sit there."
"I'm sorry about yesterday, I should have asked," she said with a light laugh. The girl sat down again to the boy's surprise.
"So are you just going to always sit here from now on?"
The girl nodded. "That's my plan, unless you don't want me here...?" She trailed off at the end of her sentence and looked up at him. "Do you want me here? 'Cause if you don't, I can leave..."
"No!" The boy quickly covered his mouth after the quick outburst. "I mean, no," he said quieter than the first, looking down, adjusting his glasses.
The girl smiled, "Good, because I don't want to leave."
And for the first time in a long time, the boy felt a little bit happier.
