Daisy held her breath in anticipation.
Had he found out? What is his reaction going to be?
She wasn't sure if she even wanted to know! Daisy heard Bryce suck in a breath of air on the other end of the phone line.
"Have you been leaving paper hearts on my locker for the past few days?"
There was silence for a while, before the girl answered.
"Yeah, I have."
"Why?"
Daisy sighed a little, "Bryce. I've known you for quite sometime now, and you deserve to be happy like I said earlier. I watched you slip away from the world, but you've started to slip a little too far. That's why I decided to do something. I didn't realize how much you had been impacted by everything. I was too caught up in my own pain when Em died to notice yours, and sure, you look exactly like her. I regret not being there for you."
"Really?" Daisy heard a hint of hope in his voice. She imagined him with a slight smile on his face.
"Really."
"Thank you, Daisy."
"I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, goodnight."
"'Night."
