After she had dropped Gaia off at Jensi's, Biana light leaped back to her apartment to get some supplies before visiting Sophie and Fitz. She packed her "visiting Seaglassbay" bag with fresh vials of different elixirs Sophie might need, as well as a new audiobook from the forbidden cities to put on Sophie's old ipod and some ripple puffs for Fitz. She packed some water for herself, her sketchbook, and her colored pencils. Biana made sure to wear comfortable clothes and keep her hair back, as well as to make sure that the outfit Gaia had seen her wear that morning was placed on the couch so she could quickly change before going to pick her up later. Biana really hoped that leaving her with Jensi was a good choice. It's not that Jensi was a bad guy or anything, she just didn't know him.
They had never been close, or ever really friends back at Foxfire. They were just friends of a friend to one another, and that's all. If Dex wasn't so close with the family, Biana would have tried to talk someone into taking some time off to watch Gaia, and she was almost tempted to turn around to go get Gaia to do just that. It wasn't that she didn't trust Jensi, she just didn't know him, and Gaia was really, really important to her, so it was only natural that she was so uneasy.
To be able to go to Seaglassbay, she needed to keep her head in the game, so she decided to take the chance and bother Dex. She sat down in a velvet plush chair and pulling out her imparter, hunching over the device slightly, impatient. When his face appeared on the screen, he was biting some wires, pulling them back from the mini fridge he had grabbed the other day, "Hrff hrn hr hrr," he told her, which was mad scientist lingo for: "Hold on a sec." Dex cut some squiggles in the wire before he spit them out, and gave her his attention, "Hey, what is it? You're not crying this time, but I get the sense that something's up."
"I just dropped Gaia off and I'm nervous... I trust Jensi... but I just don't know him," she tucked some hair behind her ear and took a shaky breath, "could you tell me a little more about him so I don't feel like I dropped her off at a complete stranger's house?"
"What do you want to know?" Dex started unscrewing something inside the mini fridge.
"Anything. How do you know him, who did he marry, where they work, about their son, basic level knowledge."
Dex seemed to think for a moment, unscrewing a bolt now, not answering until it popped off with a satisfying CRACK, "Hmm... let's see... Jensi and I were hanging out before Foxfire because our parents were friends. He's an electrokinetic and works as a salesman at the electronics company "Frenda". He married Wendella Haftermen, a guster, and she's been training for the last few decades to work in the matchmakers office. Emrys is fourteen, a good student, kind of quiet, but you have to get through his hard shell. I'm actually his Emerian."
"Really? That's amazing, Dex! Congratulations! I know it probably happened a while ago... but still, that's awesome!"
"Yeah, it is," he agreed with a smile, "and don't worry about it. I kept it out of the press and that was when... we were all having some tough times."
"Oh," Biana said in a small voice before changing the subject, "has Emrys manifested a special ability yet?"
Dex went quiet for a few seconds before responding, "I think I'll let Emrys tell you that one when he's ready. It's a bit of a touchy subject."
Biana was confused, but she didn't question it. She didn't have enough time, "Thanks for everything Dex. I feel a lot better now."
"No problem, and good luck at Seaglassbay today."
"Thanks!" she kissed the screen affectionately like a proper princess would to one of her friends, causing for Dex to chuckle before their screens went blank. Shoving her imparter into her bag, she quickly stepped on the leap master and arrived at Seaglassbay seconds later.
