Chapter 16

Louis trailed behind us trying to escape the mob of fans but didn’t want us to run behind and risk us being hurt on trampled upon. Behind Louis was two of their security guards trying to hold back to girls, but the force of hundreds of girls was too much for just two security personnel. We ran down the corridor towards what looked like a dead end but suddenly two huge exit doors opened. Running through just in time the doors slammed behind us blocking out the fans.

We ended up walking out into the room where the Logies were being held, all our favourite Australian TV celebrities were there from the cast of Neighbours, Offspring to Hamish and Andy. There was a table set up just next to the boys which was reserved for us.

Throughout the night we didn’t really pay attention to the awards or the finalists, or winners, bad I know, but we were explaining Aussie humour to the boys. Not that our explanations made it any easier to understand. As the camera’s rolled and faced them, they laughed like they knew the joke, but in reality had no clue.

“Haha, and that’s what makes them beautiful,” (Name) laughed, knowing the truth behind those spirited smiles.

Logie producers approached the table the boys were seated at to escort them backstage for their final performance of the evening. We began involving ourselves into a conversation with Paul about the boys.

“They all speak very highly of you girls,” Paul spoke with a grin quickly spreading across his face “I can say with all honesty that I’ve never heard them speak about girls like that.”

We all stood up peering across the room to the stage and saw the boys hiding behind the red velvet curtain barricading the audience from the hosts/presenters/performers.

They took centre stage, bright lights beamed down on them as everyone waited for Liam’s opening solo. Everyone was up out of their chairs dancing, even Paul.
