Chapter 17 –
The room was filled with dancing celebrities, from young to old, everybody was enjoying themselves, as laughter filled the room. The lights dimmed and the boys faded into the background as everyone cheered. Before we could even talk about the amazing performance there was a tapping at our shoulders, it was the boys.
“You’re certainly quick to get off stage, you only stopped singing literally a minute ago,” Natalie said, amazed at how quickly they’d gotten back to the table.
“Well we wouldn’t want to miss a second without being with you,” Liam said smiling as they all pulled out our chairs for us.
There was only one more award to be handed out, the Gold Logie Award.
“…and the winner is…Hamish Blake!” the MC’s voice boomed.
The girls all stood up cheering and roaring “Wooo!” Admittedly the boys did give us funny looks as to why out of the whole night Hamish was the only one we cheered for.
“What’s gotten into them?” Louis looked over and questioned Harry. Harry looked back and just simply shrugged his shoulders.
“Hey we heard that!” Jacqui said as the rest of the girls looked over, “So..well..uhmm..basically,” she continued, teasing Harry.
“Hey!”Harry’s scrunched up faced stared up at us.
We were all in hysterics, even Paul and the four other lads. While everyone else around us was still applauding, completely immune.
“He’s one of the funniest guys in Australia, they had this TV show, we’ll explain later,” Emily whispered as everyone was seated waiting for the acceptance speech.
10 Minutes Later…
Everyone was starting to get up and leave, but before exiting approached our table and thanked the boys for their performance, we ended up being one of the last leaving.
“Well I don’t know about anyone else but I’m starved!” Niall said holding his stomach.
“Hahaha! Of course you are Niall,” everyone teased.
“They give you the tiniest bit of steak with a small serving of salad, do they not know who I am?” he continued.
“Okay I do admit it was kind of small, and I am a little hungry,” Jessica chuckled while everyone else nodded agreeing with what she was saying.
“Nando’s stop? My shout?” Paul graciously offered.
“You know me to well Paul!” Niall replied grinning, rushing us out into the car.
5 Minutes Later…
We arrived at a local Nando’s restaurant to find one of the waitresses ushering out the final customers ready to close up shop for the night. We all looked over at Niall; we saw the disappointment in his eyes. Paul walked into the restaurant to see what he could do while we all stayed in the car, observantly watching hoping for good news.
“Let’s Go!” his sweet Irish accent filled the car as we looked over out the window to see Paul giving the thumbs up. We were situated in the middle of the restaurant knowing that most normal people would be at home, so we wouldn’t have to worry about cameras.
The 11 of us were in the middle of a conversation before we heard tapping. Several minutes later the tapping returned, Paul turned to see what the tapping noise was.
“Uhh ohh…” followed by an empty sigh was let out by Paul.
There they were a group of 3 girls all with 1D tees on with their phones out snapping shots of us with the boys. Heads sunk into heads, hearts dropped into stomachs, we were no longer One Direction’s beautiful secrets.
