The price of Heroism/Stark's gift

A/N: hello readers! Thankyou all for the major support I hope ur all enjoying the villain Carnage being added to the story and I hope I'm doing his character justice along with the really deep side of beca's character as a superhero. Please let me know if so and thanx again.

Once chloe brought beca home, she gave her a proper patch up for any cuts and bruises she had and then they went to bed. The brunette didn't say a word all night, just let her fiancee patch her up and then laid down with her. Chloe tried to get something outta her but didn't wanna push it, and decided to just let her be and be at her side until she was ready. Neither really slept through the night, they were able to drift after a few hours, but it wasn't long before beca jolted from the bed due to her nightmare of the recent occurrences. Chloe was able to calm her down and reassure her for the rest of the night.

The next morning, chloe woke up to find beca sitting on the edge of the bed, facing the window but staring down at the floor. "Beca?" she said softly and caringly, sitting up and scooting behind the brunette and cupping her shoulders. "Beca honey, you ok babe?" she knew it was a stupid question, but she had to get something outta her, she needed to know what was going through her head. "Just wait here, I'll make you something" she said after a minute of silence, beginning to nudge herself off the bed.

"I knew it" she mumbled once the ginger reached the door, it was barely audible but enough to stop the redhead.

"What?" she moved back over in front of beca and crouched down to meet her eyes. "What did you say hun?" she asked sweetly, cupping her cheek.

"W-when I first caught him, he said the only way to stop him....was to kill him" she stated quietly. "And deep down, I knew it" she shook her head with remorse in her eyes. "I saw the look he had in his eyes....and I knew he wasn't gonna stop, I knew one way or another he would keep killing" she admitted, chloe's heart sinking at what her future wife was going through. "Why couldn't I just kill him when I had the chance? All those people would still be alive?"

"Because ur spider-woman and you make people feel save, not fearful" she quickly reassured in a sweet, encouraging tone. "Ur a Cleftomaniac, not a murdering maniac" she dryly smiled. "Sorry about the bad joke but it's true, he wants you to be like him, and if you killed him he would've won, but you didn't because ur not him, ur better" she proudly stated, this seemed to have spark some hope in the brunette. "It's like you said, real courage is choosing not to kill...when you really want to" she smirked.

Beca tried to smile, but it seemed as if something just wouldn't allow it. "But he was right about one thing, there is no him and the symbiote, just him" she pointed out. "It got in his bloodstream and developed a much deeper equilibrium with him" she informed, the ginger receiving the same look of shock and horror beca had when she heard the news. "Killing him....might be the only way to stop him now, but I don't know if that's even possible now" she sighed. "He's too strong and his....symbiote blood can do anything, anything he wants, killing or stopping him may..."

"Stop" she held up her hand to keep the brunette from continuing and cupped her cheek. "You can stop him, without killing him" she added with confidence. "Ur spider-woman, and ur Beca effin Mitchell, u'll find a way, you always do" chloe smiled, this looked to spark some hope in her. "I know you will" she assured before bringing her hands around the brunette's neck and pulling her in for a sweet kiss.

She meant for it to be a brief, reassuring gesture but once she broke away, beca leaned in to keep the moment going. It wasn't long before chloe stood, not breaking the contact as she did, and leaned into the brunette to lay on the bed as they kissed. The dj losing all fear and bitter regret as she was once again being reminded why this was the person she wanted to spend her whole life with. She wrapped her arms around the taller woman's back to keep her in place and pulled into her body while chloe kept her's on the other girl's cheeks as the kiss and the passion deepened. Neither of the two wanting to break away from their moment of passion and relief anytime soon.
