Beca carried the ginger down the sidewalk that led to their house. It was dark, street lights were off and Beca was without her mask. Chloe decided they could get cleaned up back at the house and not worry about hospitals. She had her face barried in the brunette's chest, feeling safer than ever. She tilted up when she heard stiffles and saw tears streaming down her fiancee's cheeks.

"You ok babe?" she asked in concern.

"Yea" she whispered back with a smile. "Just glad ur safe again" she added, tho that wasn't the full story.

"That's not all is it becs?" she asked with a smirk.

"I....I just wish you hadn't gotten hurt" she admitted honestly.

"I hardly even notice now" the ginger whispered before placing a kiss right on her jaw line. "Think of em as love scars" she winked, receiving a slight giggle from the brunette.

"I just hate it when you get hurt because of me" beca frowned.

"Not because, for" she corrected. "You get hurt for me, and I would get hurt for you any day" she proudly admitted. "Besides, you make all the pain go away just by being here" she smiled brightly.

"That's exactly what you do for me, including tonight" beca responded with a smile and pecked her lover's forehead.

"Glad to be of service" chloe smiled jokingly but honestly. "Now what else is it?" she asked as they started to approach the house. Beca gave her a questionable look. "It was also a bit of a happy cry you had going on there" she pointed out.

Beca shyly gazed away with a slight smirk. "We need to get cleaned up" beca reminded her, hoping to change the subject.

"I'm not hurting, and we have a long while before bleeding out" she responded as the two walked up the stairs to the porch. "Come on, tell me, please" she cutely pleaded. Beca never being able to resist those bright blue eyes, let out a sigh before walking over to the chair by the door and sitting down, chloe still cuddled into her.

"Well, for as long as I can remember, I've always been so afraid of failure" she quietly admitted. "I've always been afraid of not being there when someone I love, particularly you, would need me, afraid of not being the true spider-woman I need to be, afraid one day I was gonna wake up and decide this city, or it's people, wasn't worth saving or that I wasn't fighting for or representing anything" she confessed and chloe already knew some of this but still listened, knowing this needed to be said and that if there was anything new, she would hafta hear it. "Most of all, I was afraid....I would never be the person...that my mom...always believed I could be....and always knew I could be no matter what" she sighed the last part, full of emotion and looked to the redhead to see her response.

"I know baby" chloe replied as she sweetly stroked her hand across the brunette's cheek.

"But I didn't feel....any of that tonight" beca confessed in awe. "All my fears went away, I knew who I was and what I was, and when all those people started cheering, I saw what I was fighting for, I saw that everything I had done... meant something and that every last one of them could see...what I was trying to stand for all this time, I knew I had done the right thing and.... they were all...so grateful for it" she stated, still in disbelief about what happened. Chloe listening happily, feeling proud for her girl. "Sparing Cletus...was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do as spider-woman, but in doing so, I was being... who you, and my mother, always believed in me to be, and I wanted to spread that and show it to all of those people" her gaze didn't meet the ginger's, it was far off and Chloe could smile from what she saw and heard. "And it worked, they saw me as a true hero, and I saw everything I have been wanting to accomplish...finally falling into place" her gaze met chloe's again and both women were smiling brighter than ever.
