Maya Hart's PerspectiveOh my God.
Today's the day!
Today's the day, the day in which I start college!
Me, Riley, and the rest of the gang are all going to an expensive college in LA, California; they have programs which will help us study all of our different career interests.
I'm never this cheery or positive, for once in my life, I'm looking forward to something. I jump out of bed and rush into my bathroom, stepping into my steaming hot morning shower.
Ah.
After a few minutes of rushing around, I have on a navy blue, vintage-looking T-shirt with a black leather jacket on, along with grey sweatpants and Michael Korda black boots. I rush down the stairs to see Mom and Shawn eating breakfast together. Shawn looks up at me and smiles widely. "Oh, look at you. My girl is ready for college?"
I chuckle and turn to Mom, who's tearing up already. She gets emotional over everything, I swear to God.
"My baby is leaving us already!" she says, covering her face. But her attempt to hide her face in her hands doesn't stop me from saying the tears streaming down her face. I walk over and give her a warm, happy hug.
"I'll be fine, Mom. Don't worry."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Call us everyday, Maya. Study hard! Don't do drugs!" Mom calls out the car window. After filling out many forms and meeting with the staff, Mom and Shawn were finally dropping me off. The college was huge, with expansive rooms and automatic doors, large posters hanging everywhere. "Love you! I'll be fine." I call back.
The last thing I see is Mom's red, teary face before she rolls up the car window and drives off slowly.
I sigh, sitting down next to the entrance. I was supposed to meet Riley here, but I couldn't see her.
Suddenly, I hear a familiar voice. It was Farkle!
I jump up and smile widely to see Farkle walking towards the entrance with his dad, who was wearing a blue button-down shirt, and his glasses were crooked and nearly falling off his face. He seemed to be rushed and unorganized this morning.
"Maya!" Farkle exclaims, embracing me in a warm hug.
I squeal. "I'm so glad you made it!" I turn to Farkle's dad and giggle. "Hi, sir."
His dad smiles. "Nice to see ya,Hart."
Farkle hugs his dad and grins. "I'll be fine, Dad. Love you."
His dad chuckles and nods. "Love you too, son. Call me everyday. And....Promise me, you'll be safe."
Farkle nods. "I promise, Dad."
His dad's eyes get glassy, and he smiles at us one last time before walking off.
As soon as his dad leaves, I run over to Farkle and give him a sweet, passionate kiss. Ever since senior year, me and Farkle have started dating. We kept it a secret from everyone else. We didn't want the others to freak out. Farkle kisses back and wraps his arms around my waist. "Where's everyone else?" he murmurs against my lips.
I giggle and pull away. "I dunno. Let's go in, we'll call them later."to be continued ?
