at 6:57 in the evening, seokmin had knocked on jisoo's front door, waiting patiently for the older to open it. jisoo stumbled to put his shoes on and quickly checked his hair and outfit in the mirror, tugging on his turtleneck so it wouldn't suffocate him as much. upon opening the front door, jisoo found seokmin gleaming down at him with the same mesmerising smile that first attracted jisoo to the younger. his hair was also gelled back into a quiff as jisoo admitted that seokmin looked his best with his bangs out of his forehead. jisoo locked the door and linked his arm with seokmin's.

"excited?" seokmin asked when noticing a small skip in his boyfriend's step. jisoo let out a little giggle.

"yeah, i haven't seen these guys in a little under a year. you'll love them all, especially sejong" jisoo reassured, patting seokmin's hand who nodded.

"i'm sure i will"

they clambered into seokmin's car-that he didn't really use since he only went to school and that was at least a twenty-minute walk - if he wasn't taking the bus - and set off to the address jisoo had put into the gps. it was about a forty-minute drive with the sunset laid out in front of the couple who were softly listening to the radio and stuck in their own thoughts. the blend of yellow and pink in the sky was aesthetically pleasing along with the dark blue beginning to set over korea. stars sparkled and littered themselves all over the night, not leaving a space void. jisoo breathed in deeply and leaned back into the warm leather due to the seat heater blasting so he wouldn't freeze to death. he would have taken a little nap right then and there if seokmin wasn't pulling into the familiar gated community that triggered endless memorises for jisoo. he sat up in his seat and stared out the window with a shit eating smile.

seokmin kept his eyes on the road but sometimes glanced at all the houses he drove by. they were all so luxurious and modern, it made seokmin wonder what kind of guy this sejong character was. jisoo hadn't given him a low down of everyone attending tonight so seokmin had no idea what to expect. just from the house, he was rolling up to, seokmin guessed that sejong was wealthy. very, very wealthy.

quickly, jisoo clicked open the car door and told seokmin to hurry up. the younger turned off the ignition and locked the vehicle, catching up to jisoo and stood by his side. the front door was at the top of a lavish staircase with neatly trimmed hedges lining the front of the house. seokmin whistled at the exterior as jisoo rang the doorbell. one of the ten foot double doors then opened, revealing a young man in dress pants and a blazer who was smiling bright enough to blind anyone.

"jisoo" he grinned, pulling the american into a tight hug, mainly from jisoo's side. seokmin analysed their action cautiously. there was something about sejong that felt a little off. seokmin saw that he had placed his hand on jisoo's lower back which for seokmin, was a bit too low.

no, he thought. you're overreacting. they're just old friends that haven't seen each other in a year.

seokmin let that thought sink in before slapping on a smile as jisoo separated from the slightly taller.

"sejong, this is my boyfriend, seokmin" jisoo introduced, gripping onto seokmin's upper arm who stuck out his hand just as sejong, shaking hands with curt nods.

"nice to meet you" seokmin said politely and bowed as sejong chuckled, stuffing both hands in his pant pockets.

"like wise" he turned to jisoo. "you're growing up now, joshy"
