the dining hall, just like everything in this house, was gigantic and furnished aesthetically. the sleek, dark wood table, meant for twelve guests was clearly the focal point in the room was the white walls and floor made it stand out from everything else. sejong would be sat at the end of the table with the two couples opposite each other. a large pot of seafood soup steamed in the middle of the table with a lot of side dishes surrounding it.
"ah, wow, hyung. this looks so good" seungkwan marvelled, clapping his hands softly with chopsticks wedged between his fingers already as his boyfriend agreed with him. they all started to dig into the food.
seokmin popped a small slice of egg roll in his mouth and was caught off guard at how sensational it tasted. as much as he wanted to hate sejong, seokmin would gladly acknowledge his cooking skills.
"so, seokmin" sejong started, taking his napkin and patting around his mouth politely. "what do you study?"
"business" seokmin replied as if he was always ready for that question and he was. "finance, to be specific"
sejong nodded slowly at that answer and leaned back into his chair. jisoo was quick to swallow his food to join the conversation.
"sejong's actually already working for his uncle's company. he's the heir if you will" jisoo said, shooting the older a proud smile before looking back at his boyfriend. "you could learn something from him, seokmin"
it took all of seokmin's willpower not to scowl when sejong smirked cockily at him. "i'll be sure to ask for advice"
jisoo made a noise of contentment, leaning over to quickly kiss seokmin's jaw before going back to his food. all these thoughts of hatred towards sejong made seokmin forget how healing jisoo was. no matter what he did, it made seokmin feel cured of whatever bad mood he was in. confidently, seokmin took jisoo's hand in his under the table, looking next to him to find the older smiling while slipping his soup. jisoo tighten his grip to reassure seokmin that he was well aware of the sudden burst of affection and wasn't opposed to it. it was the little things that made jisoo's heart swell.
dinner continued casually, with the university students awkwardly eating with one hand but managed to get by. seokmin also found out that he could use chopsticks with his left hand too, though sometimes they would slip out from his hand. it was only jisoo who had noticed, laughing to himself which made seokmin lightly kick his foot under the table. that started a little battle of foot stepping and subtle shoulder bumping, which also made them look like they awkwardly had to pee but didn't want to tell anyone about it.
"are you two okay? you keep shifting and moving weirdly" seungkwan commented, glancing strangling at his hyungs who looked up from their food. jisoo got the last step in and smiled innocently with seokmin huffing in annoyance.
"have we? i didn't even notice-ah!" jisoo cried when the younger had kicked his shin and the older quickly let go of his hand. seokmin laughed and tried to place a hand on the other's thigh but his action was denied, with jisoo making conversation with hansol and ignoring seokmin.
everyone had finished eating twenty minutes later, clutching their stomachs in satisfaction. hansol let out a sigh as a smile plaster his lips, leaning his head on seungkwan's shoulder who kissed his temple.
"sejong, your cooking is always so amazing" jisoo complimented, placing a hand on top of his friend's that was resting on the table. sejong smiled back at him and thanked jisoo. seokmin mentally rolled his eyes and tore his gaze away from the two until jisoo gasped.
"you got a piano?" the american asked, standing up slightly to get a better view of the lustrous, jet black grand piano that found it's place perched neatly on an angle in the back of the room. jisoo's eyes basically shimmered at the sight of the instrument but sat down again.
