I was being used as a pack mule for the entire way to the eastern point of the town. I carried most of the weapons that we gathered from the armory and Sam, Debera, and Alex carried what they could lift.

"We are almost there," I said bearly breaking a sweat.

"When you said that weight wasn't a problem for you, you weren't joking," Sam said with a surprised expression on her face.

"How do you think they found us?" Debera asked.

"It could have been the gauss cannon computer when the power was reestablished," I answered.

I heard a yelp and a thud. I looked back and saw that Alex had been shot in the leg. Time had seemed as if it had slowed, I looked at the entire squad then at Alex. I felt an adrenalin rush and reacted. I dropped the weapons and ran to Alex, there were bullets flying everywhere. I was hit numerous times but I didn't care. Sam and Zeik had grabbed me and stopped me.

"Noooo, let me go!" I yelled in pain.

Then I broke free from their grip and grabbed the MRail from Walter.

"I won't let you kill her!" I yelled.

I fired the MRail at the enemy forces and they started to retreat. I fired three more times then Walter grabbed the MRail from me and slapped me;

"Get a hold of yourself!" Walter Yelled.

I fell to my knees and apologized.

"I'm sorry for putting all of you in danger," I said with tears starting in my eyes.

Sam ran to Alex with Zeik covering them.

"Go easy on him, he did save my life," Alex said.

"He put you in even more danger by firing the MRain that close to you," Walter said.

"Walter! She said back off," Greg said.

I had crashed from the adrenalin rush and passed out.

"Allen!" Alex, Greg, Sam, Frank, and Zeik said at once.

I had woke up in a place I didn't recognize.

"W... Where am I?" I asked.

"At my friends' place," Sam said.

"Dam, you took a hell of a lot of bullets and could still stand but an adrenalin rush takes you down. The names Rudy Carson," Rudy said.

"I'd know that name and voice anywhere," I said. "Good to see you again Rudy."

"Good to see you too," He said.

I started to stand up but then Rudy stopped me.

"Rudy, just wait if you found it weird that I took that many bullets then watch this," I said standing up. "No pain, no blood, just a scar."

"This is amazing, how is this possible?" Rudy asked.

I explained the whole thing to him.

"So your father made you invincible?" He asked.

"Yes," I answered.

"Can we get back to business?" Sam interrupted.

"Oh... sorry, the system is this way," Rudy said.

We followed Rudy to a small shack off to the side of a large antenna.

"Breaker, breaker. Solar 1 you there?" Rudy said into the mic.

"Ten-four. I hear you, Carson 2," A voice responded.

"Copy, I have someone here who would like to speak with you."

"Who?" The voice asked.

"Allen Ernest," I responded.

"What!?" They asked. "I knew your father back in the day."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, you are sitting next to my son after all," They responded.

"Good to hear you again Travis," I said.

"Right back at you," Travis said.

I explained the whole situation to Travis.

"Is there a way to use the solar laser for our cause?" I asked.

"I might be able to disconnect the signal and reroute it to a remote device on the ground for you to use," Travis answered. "What do you have to use as a remote console?"

"Give me a little bit to think of what we have," I responded.

I thought for about an hour.

"Can you operate the laser from up there?" I asked.

"Yes but that will require me to modify the main console," Travis answered.

"What happened to uncle Paul?" Rudy asked.

"He was calibrating the lasers and the damn thing went off," Travis said in pain.

"He will be missed," I said.

"We have another choice if it is too much work to reconstruct the main console," I said. "But it is in enemy territory."

"What about my cell phone, It's not like I need it anymore," Rudy said.

"Yeah, That'll work," Travis said.
