Alone
Your mind darkens
No light can reach through its depth
You're chained to the ground
The sun peeks over the top of the damp well you're trapped in
You stand to run to a wall, to climb, to escape!
But you are pulled back down by the chain
You fall
You feel pain rocket through your body
You lay there
A cloud passes over that light
You remain on the ground.
Sound familiar?
This is a scene that haunts the subconscious of many people
Torturing dreams or just overpowering reality
This is all you feel
But it is not all there is.
Yes it is hard to climb out, impossible really, as you'll always fall back down
But life will continue, and the walls will erode
Even without you making it, your prison will crumble with time
And a rope will be extended down to you, or you will be able to climb out on your own.
Weakened yes, but continuing.
You will climb out, and you will be free
You will find happiness
It may not be permanent, but it will be there, and it will persist despite what comes next.
I promise
