~+Tom's P.O.V+~
I'd decided to go to bed early that night, so I could wake up a bit early that morning and just prepare myself. In all honesty, I was surprised that I got a decent amount of sleep. My whole family had quiet bad insomnia, and that also got passed down to me, sadly.
Either way, I was always thankful when I got a decent sleep. It allowed me to be able to take my time in the morning.
This morning I did what I did every morning when I woke up early. I woke up my two best friends with a wake-up call.
"GOOD MORNING! RISE AND SHINE, OR YOU'LL BE LATE FOR THE FUCKING HELL WE CALL SCHOOL!" I yelled into the phone.
"Ugh... Let me sleep in a bit, Tom.." One of my friends replied.
"You say that every time, Eduardo," I sighed.
"But he does have a point, you never let us sleep in," Another one of my friends replied.
"Shut up, Mark," I snapped. Honestly, I knew my friends were right, but hey, I was normally quite harsh on people a lot of the time. My whole family was, actually. You wouldn't believe how horrible and terrifying my mom was when I accidentally screwed up. My Mom had straight A's in school.. My dad had straight A's in school... It went back for ages..
"God, is shut up your response to everything?" Eduardo asked, yawning.
"No, but it's my favorite phrase because it actually works most of the time," I replied, smiling slightly.
"Wait, you got to meet the new kid yesterday, right? What are they like?" Mark asked, curious.
"I'm glad you asked, actually. There's something about the new kid that seems really off." I started, "I mean, he seems like he'd be able to make a decent comeback if someone were to insult him. Although, strength-wise, I'm not really sure."
"Nobody could be as good as you, Tom," Mark stated.
"Of course nobody could be better than me. That's why I literally have a whole gang of allies at my fingertips. School's always been simple. You're either allied with me, or pretty much outcasted. Everyone's scared of me," I responded.
"What about Edd? He wasn't scared of you. He started up his own gang, which he allied with you, and then when you guys trusted each other, he ambushed you.." Eduardo said, which brought back loads of memories.
"That doesn't matter. Edd and I are good friends now.""Friends? You mean he's basically a fucking puppet to you. You always act like you're his friend, but you're not. He's useful because he's good at getting information from people, and you make him do all your work!" Mark stated.
"You sound a bit upset about that. Is Edd your friend or something? Or are you afraid that I'll end up doing the same to you?" I asked. After I said that, Mark hung up, leaving just me and Eduardo.
"Sorry about that. He's just worried you'll leave him too," Eduardo said. "Either way, we have to get ready for school. But before I hang up, what does the new kid look like? I want to keep an eye out.."
"Light brown hair that flicks up into horns and a band-aid of some sort on his cheek," I replied, trying to remember if I left out anything.
"Alright. I'll see you at school. Bye."
"Bye," I sighed, hanging up. There were so many things that could happen today. The first day always got everyone on edge, because you never knew what the new kid would be like.
You never knew who the new kid actually was. You never knew his history. You never knew what kind of family they came from. You never knew if they had any knowledge of what the school actually was.
