Today was the day. I could finally get everyone to look at me without someone calling me an attention seeker, which I'm obviously not. Personally, I felt that I had the hardest job for the heist. I had to create a distraction and keep everyone's attention while Tom and Tord went to steal the money. Then, when Tom yelled the codeword, I'd get up and run outside where Edd would pick us all up. It was hard for me to remember, but Edd pretty much engraved it into my brain.

"Matt, it's time to go!" Tom yelled from the doorway.

"One second! There's a piece of hair that's out of place and I can't go out in public looking like this!" I responded, trying to get the stray piece of hair back in place. Out of nowhere, Tom grabbed the back of my hoodie and my brush fell out of my hands. He could've at least given me a warning that he was about to touch me!

"We need to get there by a specific time otherwise everything will be thrown off," Tom growled, pulling me out into the hallway.

"Ugh, it smells like smoke in this hallway..." Edd complained, already at the elevator. I sniffed the air, which did, in fact, smell like smoke. I wrinkled my nose. Smoke was a smell I always despised.

"Yeah. Someone must've been smoking or something," Tom replied, pressing the down button on the elevator, letting me go.

I looked over at Edd, who was reaching into a bag he was carrying. He pulled out a medical mask which had a cat-like mouth printed on it. I giggled slightly at how childish he was. Edd didn't look amused though.

"Edd, why are you overreacting about smoke?" Tord asked, a blank expression on his face. Edd looked at Tord like he had just insulted him.

"My dad smoked and my lungs are sensitive as all hell. I don't know how much more smoke I can take before I keel over and die or get lung cancer," Edd hissed, his voice a bit muffled by the mask, "And my dad isn't exactly my favorite memory.

"Edd-" Tord started.

"No. Just- I'll explain later. When we get back on campus.." Edd cut him off, sighing. That small conversation had seemed to ruin his day. I walked over to him, gently patting him on the back and smiling.

"Guys, I've been holding the elevator doors open for an eternity, get in already," Tom rudely interrupted. We shrugged and headed into the elevator, staying silent as we slowly reached the lobby. Edd took off his medical mask once we reached it. All of us just silently walked out and headed to the bank. Edd took off his medical mask once we reached it.

"Alright Matt. I'm finished putting all the fake blood on you. Just act like you were stabbed and draw as much attention to yourself as you can. Alright?" Edd said, a little smile on his face.

"Okay! I won't disappoint you!" I said, a huge grin on my face. Edd nodded and walked off, heading to where I presumed the car he'd rented was parked. I brushed my hair in front of my face so I was partially identifiable.

I put on an expression of pain before bursting into the bank, screaming in pain at the top of my lungs. Everyone stared at me, looks of shock covering their faces. I staggered forward before falling over on my side, holding my hand to my stomach where I had been "stabbed". Everyone rushed over to me, flooding me with questions. When someone offered to call the police and an ambulance, I quickly managed to distract them from doing so.

After what seemed like ages, a familiar voice shouted, "We should call an ambulance!" That was my cue. I quickly got up and dropped the act, rushing out to the front of the bank and jumping into the car in front of me. Shortly after, Tom and Tord jumped in afterwards, throwing bags of money in the back trunk.

"Drive! We accidentally tripped an alarm on our way out!" Tord yelled at Edd, who nodded and pressed his foot on the gas pedal, driving as fast as he could while still maintaining control over the car.

"Ugh, if you hadn't been such a clumsy fuck we wouldn't have to be running from cops right now!" Tom yelled, his voice starting to be drowned out by the sound of police sirens. Both Tom and Tord grabbed guns and masks, quickly putting on the masks and rolling down the windows. They stuck their heads out the window, managing to shoot the tires of two police cars, which flew back and hit another car.

Edd made a sharp turn into a neighborhood, now just turning down random streets in and attempt to lose the cops. After countless attempts to lose them, we got cornered. Edd put on a mask and handed me one as well. I put it on, a bit confused.

"What are we doing now?"

"We're running for our fucking lives," Edd hissed.
