When yo got back to the Mystery Shack, you, Dipper, and Mabel sat down to watch a movie as you had suggested. By the time it was over, Dipper was leaning against you snoring softly and Mabel was in your lap, soundly sleeping like her bother. You giggled at the two, worn out twins as Stan walked into the room, smiling at the sight.
"They seem to have take a liking to you, they obviously trust you a lot," he said softly and you smiled up at him.
"You think so?"
"I know so, those kids don't attach like that to just anyone. I'm sure there's a reason you were brought into their lives and vise versa." He chuckled, "how ya feeling hun? You've been here for two days now, not that I mind whatsoever but your folks are probably worried sick." He said with a small frown. Your eyes widen as you look down and sigh. You couldn't avoid it any longer. If you wanted to stay you had to tell someone about... him.
"You see... my folks don't live here, my Uncle Robby does. I may have lied as to why I was in the woods running around at night. I..." you paused, swallowing the lump in your throat as you looked to Stan who held a confused and focused expression. "I was running from my uncle."
"Running from your Uncle? Why would you do that? Is he a jerk? Did you two have a fight?"
"Try a pedophile. He's always been creepy towards me... but that night he tried to-"
"You don't have to say it, I understand now sweetie. You got away before he could didn't you?"
"Yes, he's on the heavier side so her probably didn't try to chase me fore long but... I just kept running until I collapsed. Which thankfully was close to the shack," you said with a soft smile as you looked around.
"Well (Y/n)... I'm sorry that happened to you but I'm glad you told before I tried to send you back to that disgusting man. You can stay with us here in that guest room all summer if you'd like, consider it yours. I'm sure the kids would be delighted to have you around," he smiled as Mabel gripped your shirt and nuzzled into you with a smile as she slept, Dipper now hugging your arm.
"Thank you Stan, I appreciate your hospitality. Is there anything I can do around here to help? Just as a way to pay back-"
"No need, having the kids happy is payment enough. If you know a time when your Uncle isn't home tomorrow, we can swing by and grab your things without confrontation." He said he he leaned down and scooped up Mabel in one arm and Dipper in the other, neither of them even flinching. You nodded and smiled.
"Thanks again Stan."
"Welcome to the family, (Y/n)." He said with a smile before walking out of the room to take the kids to the attic. You stood up and smiled as you walked to what was now your room for the summer. You plopped down onto the bed and looked at the book on the nightstand. You shook your head as you turned away and buried yourself under the covers.
"I've had enough weirdness for today." You said to yourself as you let sleep take over and put your mind to rest. You sat up in your bed, the sky still pitch black when you glanced out the window. You paid no mind to it as you slipped out of bed, stretching a bit as you yawned, your mouth dry and in need of water. You head to the door of your room and open it, only to gasp and slam it back shut. You turned around and rubbed your eyes, shaking your head and then turning around and opening it once more to see the same thing.
There sat Bill Cipher at a table set for two, nothing on the table but two wine glasses full of water and a vase in the middle with a vibrant red rose, which stood out considering the rest of the setting was in greyscale besides Bill. A soft piano could be heard playing smooth tunes, but was nowhere to be seen.
"Oh! My lovely (Y/n)! Care to join me? You wanted a glass of water anyway did you not?" He said with a smirk. You sighed with an annoyed tone before pointing at him and laughing slightly.
"This is a dream, isn't it?"
"Sure is, honey."
"So you are controlling my dreams now? I can't sleep without seeing your stupid face, can I?"
"My face is not stupid, and I wouldn't say 'controlling' more like manipulating," he chuckled.
"Same difference Cipher, now what do you want?"
"For you to join me for the glass of water you want."
"And...?"
"And... what? That's all I desire, dear (Y/n)."
"Yeah, like I'm stupid enough to fall for that. That water is probably-"
"Poisoned, no. Drugged, nope. Magic infused, afraid not. Cursed, wouldn't dream of it. It just a normal glass of water, sorry to disappoint your skewed judgement of me," He said, picking up his own glass and taking a sip.
"So all you want is for me to sit down and drink that other glass of water with you?"
"It's that's simple, sweetie."
"Fine, but I'm leaving when I'm done that glass, Cipher," You said as you rolled your eyes and walked over to the table, pulling out the chair and sitting down across from the smirking, smart ass demon.
"Did you miss me?" He asked as he took another sip of his glass. "Admit it, you missed me."
"No, not really. Missing you would imply that I thought of you, and I didn't. It would also imply that I feel some sort of emotion towards you other than the urge to stay as far away from you as possible."
"Wow, you're not lying either, I can tell. Well that's rather cold isn't it? I guess I didn't make my first impression impactful enough, noted." He squinted slightly as you picked up your cup and took a hesitant sip, low and behold, it was just plain old water.
You and the demon sat in silence for a few minutes as you both sipped at similar intervals at your waters. The only sound breaking the pause was the music from the smooth piano still playing from who knows where. You spared a passing glance at the blonde and black haired demon before you. Being close to him and not as alarmed or afraid, you now noticed one resounding fact. 'Shit... he's kinda hot'. As soon as you thought it he chuckled and looked at you with the one eyes that wasn't covered, another smirk playing his lips.
"Why thank you, glad you like this new form of mine. As I said before, you are quite the beauty to behold yourself," he finished, taking another sip. You felt your face go red as you blushed violently. You grabbed your glass and chugged it down to the bottom, slamming it on the table and standing up.
"There I'm done, now I'm leaving," you stated before he snapped, your glass filling back up. You gasped before glaring at him. "I never agreed to-"
"But you never said only one glass, dear. Learn to be more specific."
"Why don't you learn to be less of a conniving jerk and I'll consider taking your advice." You said as you plopped back into your chair with a huff.
"Rude, you are being quite rude." He shook his head as he sipped more water.
"What do you want with me you pesky demon? To torment me? Take my soul? Spit it out, I'm tired of these stupid mind games." You folded your arms as you drank a big gulp of water.
"Can't I just want to know you more? You are the one who set me free again after all."
"Yeah, well Mr. Mind Master, can't you just read my mind to know all you want to know and then leave me alone?"
"Well where's the fun in that? Plus... I must admit I'm at a loss over something recently," he said, his smirk falling as he looked concerned.
"A loss? What's happening?" You asked confused.
"Like I mentioned, only one with a troubled soul could release me into the world but... I can't see the memory, experience, or part of your mind that makes you 'troubled'. I have never experienced a phenomenon such as this before and I can't seem to figure out why it's happening." He said, sounding annoyed and frustrated as you giggled to yourself.
"It's simple Cipher, you don't get to know unless I tell you."
"Then tell me," He said with a shrug as you laughed aloud, taking a gulp of your water. "What's so funny?"
"Like I would ever spill my trials and tribulations to a demon like you? You'll never know those dark parts of my past Cipher, so give up and quit wasting your time and annoying me." You said, gulping down the rest of your glass as you stood up and slammed it down once again.
"I'll get it out of you somehow! No matter how long it takes, I'll know your secrets (Y/n)! Consider your challenge accepted!"
"Yeah, yeah demon, I've heard enough. I'm going back to bed. See ya', Cipher!" You said as he ranted behind you, you wave a hand dismissively as you walked back through your bedroom's door and shut it. Effectively cutting off Cipher and the smooth piano music as the air stilled with silence. You walked over to your bed and fell into it, curling into a ball and letting sleep overtake yourself in this dream world.• • • •
