Chapter Seven -Thrown Away

Obi-Wan and Anakin were just finishing the sausages by the time Alpha reached the spot with the man. As he walked back, the two Jedi looked up, confused.

Alpha was bringing a stranger in? What for? Anakin observed the black haired, half-caste man, who seemed deeply wounded at the leg. Or at least that's what the blood could prove.

"Nice to see you back, Apha..." Obi-Wan said, sending the clone a questioning look. Seeing a soldier walking back after twenty minutes with a stranger being supported by him was certainly an interesting site.

"And who's that?" Anakin asked directly. Unlike his Master, he preferred revealig things as soon as possible.

"A spy." Alpha said as he helped the man sit down on the ground. He spoke, "I'm not a spy! Stop calling me that!"

"Well I don't know your real name, and I gotta call you somehow!" He replied sharply.

"Easy there," Obi-Wan leaned down to the stranger, "Excuse the cold welcoming. I am Obi-Wan Kenobi, and this is my padawan Anakin Skywalker. I suppose you know Alpha already." He smiled warmly.

The man nodded.

"Hmm, I see you are hurt, let's see what I can do for you!" The Jedi stood up to get his backpack. Meanwhile, Anakin walked up to him, "I'm Anakin, the Chosen One!"

"Spreading your popularity, young one?" Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow as he turned back to see his padawan's face.

"Very funny," Anakin avoided his eyes, embarassed. "What happened to your leg?"

The man looked up nervously, "Um, nothing, really..."

Alpha surely looked embarassed under that helmet of his. Why are the Jedi so nice to him and all I did was sending a bullet into his flesh?

"Nothing alright," Anakin turned towards Obi-Wan, "You got a first aid kit?"

"Correct!" His Master grabbed the box, "I was thinking about you when I packed it." That smirk on his face could tell all.

Anakin took out a roll of bandage made out of textiles and looked at it for a while. How do you even put this thing on??? Seeing that he was uncertain, Obi-Wan offered to help.

He put the textile material around the wounded man's leg and fixed it on. He smiled as he finished it. "You'll get better soon."

"Thank you." He nodded greatfully.

A few minutes of silence passed. Alpha was breaking tree branches in the background to make some fire, but the two Jedi sat quietly on the tree trunks next to the man. Anakin spoke at last.

"I don't like this."

His Master glanced on him for a second with a questioned look.

"I mean, he actually could be a spy!" He explained.

"I told you, I'm not!" The addressed one cried, "I don't want to hurt you!"

"Who are you then?" Anakin asked agressively. The man turned away.

Obi-Wan leaned towards Anakin, "Padawan, just try to soften the words," he said quietly, "we don't know what he'd been through! He'll talk when he feels alright!"

"Fine." Anakin spat, showing unsympathy towards the stranger. Alpha exchanged looks with him once he got back; they just didn't like this.

About fifteen minutes later, the fire lit up. "FINALLY!" Anakin shouted after thousands of tries, "ITS BURNING!"

"Nice job, Anakin, that means we won't freeze tonight!" His Master smiled widely. "And it's getting dark anyways."

The three republicans talked a lot as they sat around the fire. Alpha was telling them stories about training as a clone, Anakin was sharing Tatooine adventures. Obi-Wan enjoyed their company, however, he kept an eye on the man, who was sitting further away. The Jedi was uncertain of what to do; should he leave him or try to get him into the conversations?

Eventually, his kindness took over as he stood up and walked towards him. He was ignored by the other two as he sat down next to the stranger.

Silence was between us.

Obi-Wan could hear Anakin and Alpha laugh a bit further away, but otherwise, everything was unusually quiet.

"Strange." He said, trying to start a conversation, "Aren't there at least owls to make some noise?"

"No." Came a quiet reply a few moments later, "Living things can no longer be found on Dagobah."

Obi-Wan's biggest fear came true. The life scanners didn't lie, the planet was certainly deserted, life was destroyed on such a green planet. The Jedi swallowed hard, the information caused pain in his chest; they're too late. Evil Separatists!

Trying to control his slight anger, he turned towards Dagobah's only survivor, "What do you know? Tell me everything. Please."

The man's expression seemed pained as well. He inhaled and exhaled louder than usual, then sighed deeply. "Alright." He finally said.

And so he began.
