I stepped backward in horror, but the creature took a step with every one I took. The Nightmarionne had managed to enter my dreams. Scars lined his mask where Nightmare had scored him, right across the eye. His malformed face stretched into a grin, his face far too close to mine.

"Wh...what are you doing here?" I asked, a bit of fear in my voice.

"I knew you had existed for quite some time, Shadow Freddy. You're allowed to exist, but no one knows that you do. Isn't that terrible?" He asked. I looked at him up and down, practically feeling the evil resonating from him. I took another step back, and of course, his face stayed too close to mine as he took a step forward.

"Your entire life is considered worthless if you can't affect others that are in it. But I think I could help." he said.

"How are you inside my head?" I questioned, still looking at the scars on his face.

"I've perfected the way of delving into minds and causing nightmares to children. You were slightly more challenging, but it was simple enough. Now then, Shadow Freddy, do you want my help or not?" he asked. He was keeping things blunt, and I felt my fear start to rise.

"No, I...well, I could..." I stuttered. I knew that the Nightmarionne was one of the most abominable creatures on earth, and no one knows how many lives he's taken or ruined. But he had the ability for me to get noticed and now, something that not even Nightmare could provide.

His grin widened to inhuman measures when he spoke again. "Shadow Freddy...I could make you their ruler if you so desire. Golden Freddy is unfit, the Marionette is a joke, and Springtrap is worthless. These robots need someone with an iron fist. They need you." he said. I felt a bit of pride rise inside of me. The Nightmarionne thought I deserved a position like that...? He did know what he was talking about...

"Shadow Freddy, let me give you a gift...and see how much power you could claw your way to." he said. I stared up at him, and every voice in my head told me to accept it. But there was a faint one, a small one, that said that he was still a monster who could kill with no remorse.

"What...would happen should I accept?" I asked. The Nightmarionne's smile lessened a bit, but he quickly tried to hide it.

"Why do you even need to ask? It'd be immeasurable power at your command." he replied.

"Because I'd like to know what I'm reading before I sign the contract." I muttered. The Nightmarionne's eyes narrowed, but he let out a deep chuckle before standing up straight, keeping his face out of mine.

"I admire your will to analyze the situation before jumping into the fray! Shadow Freddy, you could be granted great strength, intelligence, and...even be able to be seen by your fellow peers." he explained. That last one ate at me more than the others. To be able to be seen...it'd be my greatest wish. It had convinced me.

"Yes! Yes, I accept!" I cried. The Nightmarionne smiled, knowing he had struck a deal.

"Meet me in the darkest part of the woods near one in the morning, and I'll grant you your wish. But you have a string attached." He said.

"What is it?! I'll do anything!" I urged.

"You'll have to kill Nightmare for me. The power I will give you will be more than enough to slay him." he said. I felt my core sink a little.

"N-Nightmare? But he has done nothing wrong." I protested.

"He's blind, Shadow Freddy. If he sees someone gaining some sort of authority, then he's going to try and stop you. We don't want that. And besides, he's nothing more than a thorn in anyone's side." he replied. I looked down at my hands and back up at the Nightmarionne.
