I'm Not Yours To Protect

Chapter 2

                     Eunhyun's POV

          " Yah yah, I saw that moment between you and the new guy." Taemi teased me with the word 'creepy' written all over her face.

          I choked on my water, flustered with the sudden question. Taemi pat my back and laughed while saying, "Don't need to get choked up, I know you like him."

          I quicky pushed her hand away and fought back. "What?! I just met him, there's no way i would like him. Why would you even say that?" I questioned the idiotic bestfriend of mine. She just shrugged her shoulders and nod her head towards a direction.

          "He's awfully busy isn't he?" Taemi asked, trying to dodge my question. I looked over and saw girls attempting to seat with Chanyeol for lunch but he just chased them away. That didn't stop them though. One came another, he's probably feeling annoyed.
Damn, they're persistent.

          "Anyway, what are you doing after school?" I asked Taemi while munching on my sandwich, refusing to have another thought about Chanyeol.

          "I'm watching a movie with Baekhyun." A tint of pink appeared on Taemi's cheeks while she tried to avoid eye contact with me. "Baekhyun? Since when were you interested in him? I known him since we were kids but he gets on my nerve sometimes." Taemi responded me by punching my arm lightly and yelled softly , "You clearly know I like him so stop teasing me you pig!"

          I rolled my eyes at her . That's how i felt when you tease me with Chanyeol. "What about tomorrow?" I pestered her some more, hoping she would agree to hang out with me. Taemi looked at me sadly and shaked her head . " Mianhae, I have volleyball practice tomorrow. I have it every Tuesday remember?" She stated, trying to jog up my memory.

          "Maybe I should find other friends to hang out me." I murmured with annoyance. Taemi then pointed at Chanyeol.

          This girl sure knows how to get on my nerves. Maybe Baekhyun and her make a perfect pair after all.

                       Writer's POV

          "I'm home!" Since Eunhyun had no one to hang out with after school, she made up her mind to head home. Assuming that Eunhyun's mom would be welcoming her home, she waited there but no one came.

          That's weird, she should be home at this timing. Where did she go?

          She shake that thought out of her head and went to the kitchen to get a snack. Before deciding to watch k-drama, she took a cold shower first due to the scorching hot weather. She put on a over-sized t-shirt and tied her hair in a messy bun. Knowing they're only girls in the house, she didn't bother putting pants on. She flopped onto the bed and started watching 'goblin' .

          After an hour or so, Eunhyun heard the front door opening and without a second thought she ran down as fast as she could.

          "Mom! Where were you?" She questioned her mother with curiosity.

          "Hey hun, you're back home early. I went to the supermarket to get some groceries. I invited our new neighbours for dinner later." Eunhyun's mom replied while putting the plastic bags filled with food onto the kitchen counter. Eunhyun leaned on the entrance of the kitchen with her hands crossed and raised her left eyebrow. "Oh really?"

          "Yup and I heard they got a charming young son, so dress nicely tonight hehe." Eunhyun's mom giggled while having thoughts of her daughter finally having the chance of getting a boyfriend. Eunhyun rolled her eyes. "I'm not five. I don't need you to play cupid." Eunhyun groaned.

          "Oh shh, now go get ready! They're be here in an hour or so." Eunhyun's mom chased Eunhyun back to her room to get ready.

                     Eunhyun's POV

         Looking at the mirror, i judged my appearance. I have never thought myself as someone pretty or thin but I couldn't care less. I wore a floral sleeveless dress just slightly below the knee. Not too formal, not too skimpy. I tied my hair in a messy ponytail and appeared light lipstick on my lips. This will do .

          I heard the doorbell rang so i rushed downstairs, getting ready to greet our new neighbour. A couple around my mom's age was at the door, holding what i guessed is food and smiling at me but no 'charming young son'. "Hello, you must be Sooyoung's daughter. I'm Lee YoungMi and this is my husband Park SungJin. Nice to meet you." She greeted me and raised her right arm.

          "Hello, I'm Kim Eunhyun. Nice to meet you too." I raised my arm and shaked their arm. I let them into our home and got them two glasses of water. "Oh Youngmi, Sungjin, you're here! Where's your son!" My mom appeared behind me and cheerfully greeted our guest. "He will be here soon, he takes a long time to get ready. And thank you for having us over." Mrs Park replied while hugging my mom.

          Soon after, the doorbell rang again. Expecting it was the 'charming young son' i went to open the door. When i opened the door, the only emotion i was feeling was shocked and i was slightly looking forward to this dinner. The same look was plastered over his face as he just stood there. We both finally managed to force our words.

          "Kim Eunhyun!"

          "Park Chanyeol!"
