I'm Not Yours To Protect

Chapter 25

                       Writer's POV

          Eunhyun's face beamed with overwhelming happiness as she opened her locker. Taking out all of her books, ready to throw them in the trash. She took out her report book and stared at it. Eunhyun almost got a perfect score for every subjects, her gaze flicker to the area of the paper which say "Position in level: 1/292". She nodded her head in approval.

          She slightly jumped when she felt a warm hand on her shoulder. Eunhyun relaxed her shoulders as she recognised that touch, she turned to face him and placed her hands on her hips. Chanyeol had a smug grin spread across his face as he waved his report book in front of her face. Eunhyun raised her eyebrows at him and took a look at his report book, curious of his results. "Position in level: 18/292". She widened her eyes and her mouth opened slightly, Eunhyun was astonished.

         Chanyeol tilted his head, a proud look appearing on his face. "I told you I could pass final year." He said as he flip his hair in a sassy way. "This is more than just passing though, you were one of the bottom few at the start of the year!" Eunhyun looked at Chanyeol in disbelief. Chanyeol pulled his ears like a monkey and stick his tongue out at her, "BLEH BLEH."

Before she could respond, Chanyeol took hold of her books with his left hand and grab her hand with his right. "Let's throw this away shall we?" He flash her a toothy smile. Eunhyun nod her head cheerfully, "Hm!"

Eunhyun, Chanyeol, Baekhyun and Taemi spent the whole week hanging out and going to parties, they were having the time of their lives and the time of them applying for university came. Everyone of them sent in their applications with high hopes of getting in and they did.

Holding onto his cotton candy, Chanyeol slouched his back and starting sulking. "I can't believe we're going to different universities! How am I going to survive without you." Eunhyun who was next to him giggled and took a bite of his cotton candy. "It's just 4 years and it's not like we're never going to see each other again." Chanyeol let out a long breath and was about to reply but Taemi interrupted them.

She came in between the both of them and pointed at a rollercoaster ride, "Let's ride that!" Baekhyun placed his palm on his stomach, looking terrified and nauseous. The four of them were at Lotto World, celebrating their acceptance into the their desire University. Taemi dragged the three of them towards the queue of the ride causing them to panic. "Mianhae Baekhyun but this is up to you!" Chanyeol yelled and wrapped his fingers into Eunhyun, tightening his grip before running off with her.

"Wait! Where are we going?" Eunhyun exclaimed while being pull by Chanyeol to who knows where. He chuckled lightly and replied, "I don't know, wherever this path leads us."

When they stopped, Eunhyun bend her back, placing her hands on her knees and started breathing heavily. Chanyeol took a bite of the cotton candy before offering the last bite to Eunhyun which she refused.

The moon was shining above them in the sky. They both listened to the laughter of kids and screaming of people who were enjoying the rides. Countless numbers of couples walked pass them, hand in hand. The only light that could be seen was the moonlight, lighting from the castle and rides like the carousel and ferris wheel.

Chanyeol snapped his fingers and his lightbulb enlightened. "Let's ride the ferris wheel!" He exclaimed while jumping up and down like a little kid being excited for a ride. Eunhyun looked at him with an amused expression and stared at him, processing his request. Chanyeol hold her hands in a pleading manner and stared at her with sparkled eyes, "Pleaseeeeeeee."

"Fine, let's go." Chanyeol tackled her in a massive bear bug before carrying her bridal style to the ferris world. Eunhyun's face changed shades as she covered her face with her hands in embarrassment. When she realised people were staring, she punched his chest a couple of times. "Let me down! People are started to stare you pabo!" Chanyeol looked around their surroundings and smiled in satisfactory, "There's nothing to be embarrassed about. You see, we're already here."

Chanyeol let Eunhyun down and started bouncing with happiness. Eunhyun gave him am awkward look and signed, "Are you 5 or something? It's just a ride."

"Have you ever ridden in a ferris wheel before?" Chanyeol placed his arms at his sides and raised his eyebrow at her. "No, it doesn't seem fun so I didn't want to waste my time." Chanyeol gasped dramatically and looked at her in disbelief.

Slapping his arm, she signed. "Oh stop being so melodramatic." The ride operator interrupted their conversation and told them that it was their turn to get in the cabin. They both got into a blue one and sat down. Eunhyun popped her hand on the side and rested her head on her palm. She stared out of the window with a boring look plastered on her face, "This is boring."

Chanyeol who was opposite of her, looked at her with a lopsided smile. His eyes clouded over and made a quick comment, "Be patient.".

The ride was filled with complete silence as Chanyeol stared out of the cabin while Eunhyun was drifting off to sleep. Chanyeol shook her shoulder causing her to open her eyes, he pointed at the window. "Look."

Slowly, she turned her gaze at the window. Her eyes widened in amazement as she bit the inside of her cheeks. They were at the top of the ferris wheel, the location of having the best view of the whole amusement park. Eunhyun placed her hands at the window and leaned in to get a better view. Chanyeol crossed his arms over one another and smirked at her actions, "I told you so."

She ignored him and continued staring at the incredible view. A lightbulb popped above Chanyeol's head once again and he took Eunhyun's bag. He started to rampage her bag until he found the thing he wanted. His eyes tingled as he lift the marker up. While Eunhyun was busy gaping over the view, he wrote something on the wall of the cabin.

Eunhyun who was curious at what Chanyeol was doing, pulled her gaze away from the view and onto her boyfriend. After realising what he was doing, she sneakily shake her arms around his waist and rested her chin on his shoulder so she could reach his ear. "What are you doing?"

"Writing." After he was done, he grabbed Eunhyun's arms and released himself from her hold. He turned his body around and welcomed her into his chest. He lowered his head towards her now burning red ears, his mouth opened and her ears awaited his words. "I love you."

Eunhyun almost hummed with delight at the wonderful feeling, "I love you too." He buried his face into the crook of her neck in response to her words before lifting his head to connect his lips to hers. They both shared a passionate kiss before pulling away. Eunhyun stared at the words Chanyeol wrote on the wall and a smile made its way to her lips.
