I'm Not Yours To Protect

Chapter 15

                       Writer's POV

          Tapping his feet impatiently on the floor with his arms crossed, Chanyeol stared at Eunhyun, Baekhyun and Taemi who were sitting on his bed. "So are you going to tell me? I'm not asking I'm telling you too." Chanyeol said in a low tone, even more angered at their silence.

          Chanyeol pointed his index finger at Baekhyun, "You blockhead! Tell me." Baekhyun clicked his tongue and raised his voice, "I told you already! It's not my story to tell." Chanyeol then move his finger to Taemi, "Dumbass, Tell me!" Insulted by her nickname, she crossed her arms in frustration with her eyebrows scowling.

          He rolled his eyes at Taemi and his gaze flickering to where Eunhyun is sprawled out on the bed. Reluctantly, he moved his finger to Eunhyun. "Ugly, how about you." Baekhyun and Taemi land their eyes at Eunhyun in worry. "Where do you even come out with this nicknames anyway?". Chanyeol chuckled and sat down on the floor cross-legged. "It's cute though... HEY WAIT! DON'T AVOID MY QUESTION!"

          Eunhyun let out a audible sign and hesitantly started, "Fine I'll tell you." Before she could continue, she felt a warm hand on her shoulder. She turned her head to see Baekhyun giving her a reassuring smile. Eunhyun returned him with a soft smile and continue, "Juho was mine and Baekhyun's childhood friend, we did everything together. I liked him ever since we were 10 and last year I finally had the courage to confess to him. Unexpectedly, he accepted my confession and we got together. After just weeks of dating, he insisted that we "do" it. However, I wasn't ready and he got mad. The night of Juho's birthday, we drank a lot and I got drunk. He took advantage of me and........raped me. The very next day, he vanished. No one knew where he went and he didn't even leave a note. I transferred schools in the middle of the year and Baekhyun followed, that's how we met Taemi."

          Uncomfortable silences filled the air. Eunhyun gripped on her skirt while looking down, waiting for Chanyeol's response. "It was my fault, I knew Jongin's intentions but I still let myself get drunk and leave Eunhyun defenseless." Baekhyun stammered, his voice cracking. Eunhyun wrapped his fingers around Baekhyun's and look at him with determination filled in her eyes, "It's not your fault! I made myself vulnerable and I couldn't take care of myself. Don't worry about it okay?" Baekhyun gave her a small smile.

          Chanyeol clenched his fists and tightened his jaw. He stood up and yelled, "I'M GONNA KILL HIM." His exclamation shocked everyone in the room. He was about to leave his room when he felt someone pull him back. He turned his head and his anger dissolved the moment he saw who it was. "Please don't! We should just pretend he's not there. Please just pretend what happened last year didn't happen at all."

          His gaze softened as he met her eyes. His giant hands cupped her cheeks, his eyes looking all over her face and making her blush under his touch and eyes. He draw her to his chest. When her cheeks touched his chest, she thought she was going to lose it. "I'll promise I'll protect you." He whispered in her ear. She pulled back, that adorable pink blush was still painted on her cheeks and her eyes wide opened.

          She brought her eyes to the original size, "I don't need you to." Chanyeol looked at her in disbelief and asked, "Why can't I?". She released Chanyeol's arm that were around her and whispered coldly, "I'm not saying you can't, I'm saying that I'm not yours to protect." She muttered under her breath.

          Baekyun began to laugh hysterically, grasping his sides. "EUNHYUN JUST STRAIGHT UP REJECT CHANYEOL! HAHAHA, THAT'S MY GIRL!" Chanyeol shot him a deadly glare before bringing his eyes back to Eunhyun. Without warning, he wrapped his arms tightly around Eunhyun once again. He placed his chin on top of her head and said, "I don't know what is with you but I won't give up."

          "How are you going to kill him when you don't even know where he lives, you're just going to be wandering around like a stray dog! HAHAHAAH." Baekhyun slapped his thighs a couple of times while laughing like a total maniac. Chanyeol released Eunhyun and jumped at Baekhyun causing both of them to land on the floor. "Hey hey stop it now... HEY I SAY STOP IT!" Taemi yelled at both of them in frustration while pulling them apart from each other.

At the other side of the room, Eunhyun stood there motionless. Tears of joy forming in her eyes and a smile slowly creep up her lips. "I love you guys." She whispered.

Three of her friends stopped their fight and looked at her in utter confustion, "What did you say?" A huge cheeky grin appeared on her lips and she ran towards them, giving them a massive bear hug. "I SAID I LOVE YOU GUYS!"
