This is my POV as how the story should have probably progressed. I loved the show as much as the next person and this is not intended to offend anyone. Some of the scenes in this story would be the same as the ones in the show.
The details of the following story take place after the 'Chai ka cup' incident. Asfi and Zubia both spend a restless night thinking about each other. Asfand keeps constantly thinking about Zubia as to how she is so different from Fariyal.
Asfand slowly starts developing a soft corner for Zubia and starts being polite with her. He mentors her constantly to be a better doctor. He starts observing that Zubia is very efficient and competent with her work and is a very fast learner. She has groomed professionally and has begun to identify and deal with her patients properly.
Zubia has also started observing Asfand's changed behavior towards her and is very happy that he is satisfied with her work. She has grown extremely close to Geti and also to their family. She has become everyone's favorite in the hospital due to her kind and caring nature. She is very content with the way her life is going on and wishes to become a very successful doctor.
