Matty's POV

"Oh I can't wait till Mackenzie's party, she'll love the gift I'm going to give her, right?" I say nervously to my mom Elizabeth. "Of course honey, it's perfect, especially since you know what she likes because you've liked her since fifth grade after that Santa Cruz trip you guys went too. And you've known her since preschool." Mom says to me as she hands me a fruit salad.

"I just hope she feels the same way..." I say with my voice trailing off. "I'm sure she will Matty, there's nothing to worry about." Mom says while patting me on the back and going to sit down on the couch. After my salad, I go upstairs and text her. She answers right away, like I knew she would.

MC: Hey! What's up?

MW: NM just wondering what my surprise is...

MC: I'm not telling you

MW: Ugh! Well I tried, what're you doing?

MC: Just texting you and watching tv

MW: Me too. Wanna come over and play in the gym?

MC: Sure let me ask my mom. Oh and can I talk to you about something?

MW: Sure you can tell me anything.

MC: Ok I like someone...

MW: Who?

MC: Well you know her really well...

MW: Tell me some things about her.

MC: She has long, curly black hair.

MW: Kool! I also have long curly black hair!

MC: Yup! And she loves fashion, ballet, cheer, and makeup.

MW: Oh wow! So do I! I'm liking this girl so far!

MC: Good because the girl I like is...
