Chapter 32

Bree's P.O.V.
After Kyle interrupted Jake and I's, uh, moment, we spent the rest of the time jumping cliffs and swimming around talking.

Now Most people, after something like that, would be awkward around each other, but Jake and I, we were different, we just carried on like nothing happened. Jake took me home, or back to his house, should I say, to call it a night. Now here we are, laying in Jake's bed, wrapped around each other.

I can't believe I fell for Scott. I can't believe he's done that to me really. We've been through so much together. He protected me and made me trust him again, then he broke it all. At least I have Jake, right? We've been close as long as I could remember.

Just as I about drifted to sleep, I see headlights. Nothing new, but they pull into...my drive way? I pull myself from around Jake and look out the window. I feel a smile come onto my face as Mom pulled into the driveway. I run out of Jake's room, most likely waking him up because of my stomping but I didn't care. He loved my mom anyways. I run to my mom walking into our house I engulf her into a hug and feel tears drip down my cheeks and onto my shirt. I don't know how long we were standing there but we pull apart when we hear someone clear their throat. We look at Jake and Mom pulls him into our hug too. Jake's been close with our family for a long time. Hell, I used to practically live with Jake when Mom when On business trips anyways. Mom was the first to speak up.

"Jake! You live here now?!" I laugh at how excited she was about him here. She always trusted me with him.

"Yeah, we moved here not too long ago." He chuckles.

"GOOD! I've missed you and your mom so much." She smiles at Jake and turns to me. "Brianne! I didn't tell you I was coming home because I wanted to surprise you, but you surprised me! I missed you so much sweetheart."

"Mom, you surprised me. I was so happy when I saw your lights pull into the drive way. I've missed you too." I feel my eyes go blurry with tears.

"Okay, enough with sappy stuff." She smiles. She's never been one to be sappy. "What'd I miss when I was gone." She always Been one for drama. I look at Jake knowingly. I've told him about Adam. And Scott. So he knows everything.

"Well...a lot...let's get you unpacked and we can talk tomorrow?" I tried avoiding the subject, I don't want to tell everything quite yet, I know she would kill Adam for touching me and Scott for hurting me. Yeah. She's crazy.

"Okay, sweetheart, but one more question?" She has a knowing looking in her eyes.

"Okay?...." I motion her on.

She leans in to whisper in my ear. "What were you doing at Jake's?" Despite her whisper, I knew Jake heard her because he snorted out a laugh and my mom rolled her eyes.

"I've been staying there since I didn't want to be alone." I roll my eyes at her assumptions. She winks at Jake and grabs my hand to pull me inside.

"Jake, you're more than welcome to come over. I'm sure Bree won't mind company in her bed." She winks agains and I feel a blush come onto my face. She was more like a perverted best friend than a mother, And to make matters worse, Jake agreed to come. I roll my eyes and we all walk inside. Considering it was midnight, Jake and I go to bed and Mom goes to hers after we say goodnight to each other.

Jake and I wrap up in each other again with Boe at our feet and Jake whispers to me. "What are you going to tell your mom." I honestly didn't know what I'd tell her. Right before I could respond, I see movement outside my window. Scott. He was standing at his window, but he was looking at Jake and I. Jake must have seen it too because he got up and opened the window and before Scott could move, Jake yelled at him.
