One more hour. One more hour until Adam get locked up for a LONG time and he finally gets what he deserves. I've spent the last 3 hours at the hospital trying to get my records of the gun shots, broken bones and bruises I've been treated for and after an hour of them not budging, Jake decided to BRIBE them. And THEY TOOK IT! I roll my eyes at the thought of how odd that was. A doctor taking bribes to give out medical records. But at least we got them. Jake and I were sitting on my couch with Boe watching tv, watching the time go by.
An hour passed of watching tv and now here I am, making may way to Scott's house for a second time today. I knock on his door and he opens it. He seems much more cleaned up than earlier. Probably because he was expecting me. Instead of red swollen eyes, they were back to their normal, green self and his hair seemed more tamed, but I didn't miss that tired look he gave off and I wanted to question what was wrong so bad but I didn't want to seem nosy. We get into his truck and he drives us to the station in silence. It was just Scott and I in the truck because Jake and Zeke were going meet up with us there.
Once we arrived at the station, Jake and Zeke were already there, talking as if they were best friends. They saw Scott and I show up and we all walked inside. Jake took my hand in his and we followed officer Dale into a room once again. He explained to us the he needed to see one person at a time. I went first. I told him how Adam and I had used to be together and how he had beaten me, kidnapped me, and shot me. I told him where he took me and all the times he has hurt me. Officer Dale had a woman in the room writing down everything I said. Once I was done telling him my story, he nodded and told me to send in Scott since I told him he has more proof than the other two. I walk out and tell Scott to go in. I give him a quick hug and walk into the waiting room with the other guys.
Scott's P.O.V.
I walk into the room and take a seat across from officer Dale, is what Bree said his name was. He started asking me questions about what I knew about this case so I told him from the beginning to the end.
"From what I know, Brianne and Adam were very close growing up and they soon turned to a relationship. She came to me one time and told me that she didn't feel comfortable with him and that he would forcefully kiss her. Brianne is my neighbor and our houses are pretty close together and one night I saw him come into her room and was about to hit her before I jumped in and stopped him. From what I've seen and heard, this wasn't the first time. Sometimes I could hear him yelling at her and other times, I'd see her with bruises all over her. Then one night, after they broke up, she was sleeping over at my house because she didn't feel safe at her house, I woke up and went down stairs. I saw broken glass and signs of struggle in my house and she was gone. I told police and they said they would send a search warrant out. I started looking for her and found her in an old warehouse. She was shot and took her to the hospital. Then the other night, I found them in an alley and I beat up Adam. " I explained and I showed him the medical papers.
He just nodded and told me to send in the next person. I was expecting more questions but he must be done with all this and just wants to move on. I walk out and tell Jake to go in. I was eager to get out of here. I had places I NEEDED to be.
Jake's P.O.V.
I walked in and sat down and before officer Dale could speak, I just spoke up. "Before you need to ask, I'll just tell you." I say and he nods smiling at the fact that I was comfortable here. I mean, it's not my first time at a police station, this time I wasn't even in trouble, so why be nervous? "I just moved here but Brianne and I have always been close. I could tell she's been hurt but I never force her to talk about it. All I know is that she's told me Adam has done bad things to her and she doesn't like talking about it and I understand that. The other night, I got a call from her and she didn't say anything but I could hear pounding of footsteps. Sprinting. Then I heard them stop and a few hits. I started running all over town and once I got there, Adam was knocked out and I took Bree home." I stated and officer smiled, shook my hand and told me to send in the last one. I walk out and tell Zeke to go in.
Zeke's P.O.V.
Jake came out of the room and told me to go in. I've never been to a police station before so I was nervous even though I didn't do anything bad. I wanted to help Brianne as much as possible so I'm doing everything I can. Officer Dale motions me to sit down and asks me what I know about what's happening. So I start my story.
"Officer, I haven't known Brianne but a day. I was the one that called and said that a girl was being chased by him. It was late at night and I was working at the diner. She came in and was ordering her drink and he showed up behind her. He looked creepy and up to no good and she turned around. Fear was sketched all over her face and I knew it wasn't good. I decided to help get her out of the situation and acted like I was her boyfriend but he didn't buy it. He said she was his and she took off running, giving me a sign to stay here. I was scared, no doubt about it, I wanted to help but didn't know what do to. Before she took off, I slipped her my number and then I called 911." I told 100% truthfully. Officer Dale looked pleased with my answer and told me thank you. I walked out and we all waited there for officer Dale to call us back in.
I sat beside Brianne and I saw how nervous she looked. I didn't know anything about her but I did know, based on what I do know, is that Adam was a very bad guy, Scott's done something that broke her and her and Jake are very close. I sat there looking at the group. Jake seemed like a great person, Brianne looked broken but slowly healing and Scott...Scott looked just exhausted. They were all a mess in their own way but they all seemed like great people, helping each other out through bad times. Hopefully I could be a part of their group some day. I sat there thinking of everything when officer Dale came out and told us all the to come in.
We all walked in and sat down. I sat next to Jake and Jake and Scott sat next to Brianne. I didn't miss when Jake grabbed Brianne's hand and I smiled over how cute they were.
Officer Dale speaks up. "Okay, since you've all given the same stories, showing the troubles Adam had put Brianne through, we have all the proof we need to put Adam up. He shouldn't be bothering you for a while. He is charged with battery, assault, kidnapping and attempted murder." I see Brianne seem so relieved after he says this. She shouts out a thank you jumps from her chair. I see her face well up with happy tears and she jumps around hugging everyone happily. She hugged me and even the officer. Everyone laughed and we walked out after granting the officer a nice day.
