Bree's P.O.V.
Two days went by since the water park and nothing interesting happened. It's now Thursday and I'm sitting in my room with Jake right after school got out. I'm panicking about graduation TOMORROW. To calm my nerves, I️ decide to take a walk to the post office where our mail always comes in at. We get it at the post office because it's 'safer' since one year someone got their mail stolen and then their identity got stolen. So now everyone gets their mail at the post office.
"Jake, do you want to go with me to the post office?"
"Sure princess!" He says and he jumps up and puts on his shoes. I️ put Boe on a leash and take him along as well.
I️ was a sunny day and we didn't have to worry about the rain.
We took about 10 minutes to walk here and I️ grabbed my key to open my box. I️ saw I️ had gotten a letter from IU and I️ slowly reach into the box and pull it out. I️ look at Jake and I️ could tell I️ looked like a deer caught in headlights. In the letter, it could make or break me.
I️ nervously handed Jake the letter for him to open it. I️ was shaking. What if I'm not excepted.
"A-are you sure? Princess?" He asked me and I️ just nodded, unable to speak. He slowly rips it open, to add more 'dramatic' effect on an already scary situation. I️ move my hands in a 'hurry up' way and he rips the top off quickly. He opens it up and looks up at me, then back down and starts reading to himself. I️ watch his facial expression for any clues. 'This is the only college I️ applied for' I️ thought. I️ see his face drop and go serious. He looks up at me and frowns and I️ feel my heart drop to my stomach.
"Brianne..." he pauses for what seemed like forever.
"Jake....go on...." I️ nervously tell him, urging him on.
"I️-I'm sorry...."
"W-why....." I️ ask, even though I️ already knew why. I️ didn't make it.
"I️-I'm sorry I️ tricked you because YOU MADE IT IN!!!!" He yells the end and pulls me into a hug. Boe jumped up on us getting into the 'hug' too and I️ feel happy tears come down my face. Jake pulls my chin up and kisses me.
"I️ GOT IN!" I️ yelled, forgetting that there were people in here. I️ hear people start clapping and they don't even know what happened. People start congratulating me and I️ thank them all. It's kind of strange they don't even know me or what I️ got into but it made me happy that other people were happy for me. Jake was all I️ really had other than Zeke.
Then I️ remember Zeke! He needs to know the news! I️ pull out my phone and text Zeke.
Me: we are on our way to your house! Bringing Boe too! Hope you don't mind!
Zeke: Okay! And that's fine. I️ Love Boe
He reply's seconds after. I️ tell Jake what we're doing and we walk home and pile into Jake's car since we had Boe. We take off towards Zeke's house.
Several minutes later we arrived at Zeke's house and I️ had a plan for college.
"Zeke! Guess what!!!!!" I️ yell as I️ walk in.
"What's that?!?" He asks in just an excited mood.
"I️ GOT INTO IU!!!!" I️ yell and show him the letter.
He runs and picks me up and spins me around. "BRIANNE! IM SO PROUD OF YOU!" He yells and ruffles my hair. Then he bends down and hugs Boe. Hugs him, and Jake and I️ started laughing. Zeke even bought Boe toys and treats for when we bring him over here. Zeke was now literally rolling on the floor with Boe and giving him treats when he did what Jake did. I️ take out my phone and start recording the sight. Boe really likes Zeke.
"Hey, um, Zeke?" I️ start out. He sits up and looks at me smiling.
"Yeah?"
"W-would you want to, um, keep Boe when I️ leave for IU?" I️ ask hesitantly. I️ couldn't take Boe with me, so why not leave him with someone he gets along with?
"Keep him?!?" He yells happily. "OF COURSE I️ WOULD!" He yells and pats his shoulders for Boe to jump up and give him a hug and he did. It was so heart warming. Boe started licking Zeke's face and I️ couldn't help but smile.
"Do you want to keep him tonight? You both seem really happy." I️ ask. Boe needed someone to love him like that. Yeah, I️ loved Boe but I️ was usually at Jake's and he wasn't allowed at Jake's house.
"Of course!!!!" He yells and hugs me from happiness. "Congratulations Brianne! I'm so proud of you!!!" Zeke yells and Jake and I️ decide to leave him and Boe since he was back down on the floor rolling around with Boe. We tell Zeke and Boe bye and head out to Jake's car again.
