eighteen;

"Changkyun, look!" Jeong Hanna gained Im Changkyun's attention by showing him her improvements in the subject she most hated but he most loved. Calculus.

She placed it in front of his face so he could see a clear view of it. There were three pieces of papers– tests from when Changkyun started to tutor her until the end. The first paper showed a big red 'F' on the top right corner of the paper while the second one showed a 'B' and the last one an 'A'.

"Do I get a thank you?" he teased. She rolled her eyes, teasing back, "I worked hard for it, if there's anyone to thank, it's myself." She patted her head as if being grateful for herself.

Changkyun jokingly shook his head in disapproval before chuckling at how ridiculous they were being. He still loved the interactions between them, though.

Not long after, he started to get back to his work. "You're not fun at all!" she exclaimed. To her, it was difficult to get into the momentum.

"What do you want me to do then?" he inquired, looking up from his paper to her.

"Play games with me." she grinned, though Changkyun didn't get what she meant by the reply.

"Exactly what game...?"

"Tic-tac-toe?"

"That's lame!"

"You're lame! You're the one who doesn't want to be late for any classes so your prize for tutoring me is to not be deemed as late. Who does that?"

"What do you expect me to say?" He adjusted his glasses so it wouldn't fall off. The bickering has started once again but it's a normal occurrence now that Changkyun enjoyed it.

"I don't know, to let my dad allow you drink or smoke, maybe." she shrugged.

He rolled his eyes, "why do you think so critically of me?"

"Because you look annoying at first glance." She replied. The two had a staring contest until Changkyun took her three Calculus papers.

He started scribbling on the papers. "What are you doing?" Hanna was trying to figure out what he was writing the whole time but to no avail as he blocked the papers and writings out of her view. She swore he saw him smirk, though.

A few moments later, he placed one paper on her left. It was the paper she got a 'B' from. Beside the red ink, there was a pencil-written 'E'. Next, he placed another paper beside the first one so it was right in front of her. It was turned, however, so it was facing Changkyun. The 'A' written on the top right corner of the paper now on her bottom left. The 'A' looked like a 'Y' as Changkyun scribbled a line down from its middle. On its left was a letter 'M'. Lastly, placed on her right and beside the second paper, the pencil-written 'G' stood beside the red 'F' and it ended with a question mark.

"Read out loud for me?" Changkyun requested, though he felt nervous. Unbeknownst to Hanna, Changkyun started shaking his legs and he had to hold his right hand to stop it from quivering.

"Be my gf?" Hanna stared at the paper, unsure of how to answer. Her mind started filling up with worries. It was her first time feeling this way, having to like someone is difficult.

It was new to Changkyun as well. He didn't understand the feeling; why does he feel happier than he was before? Why does he feel inspired to do better in all the things he does?

You can say it's messed up, but why is it that people are always finding for love? Is it that special?

After getting back to her senses, she immediately erased all the scribblings Changkyun drew. He tried to not let it affect him but deep down he knew he felt hurt. Why else would Hanna erase them if it wasn't her rejecting him, right?
