TABITHA POV

Next day morning…

“Tabby, Tabby. Your friend is waiting, come down, dear.” I heard my mom called from down stairs. The first thing I did was checking my clock, it was still 9.10 am. It wasn’t exactly the time Melly would wake up. Then who could it be?

“Coming mom.” I shouted and few minutes later I climbed down my stairs. My mom was in the kitchen preparing for lunch, I went straight to the hall, and there he was, Matt, with a red bag beside him. “What are you doing here?” I asked him, standing few inches from him.

“Well, I just want to give the dress and mask for the party.” He stood up and with his trademark grin he offered the bag to me.

I folded my arm and threw a deep frown at him.”Are you mad? I’m not going anywhere with you.  And now please just leave.” I would have shouted toward him if my mother wasn’t there.

“Tabby, seriously? I get that you are still angry with me, but just please give me a second chance.”

Angry? The word didn’t even close to what I felt for the whole year. I shook my head.”I’m not angry, all right? Now just please leave.”

“Please, Tabby. I will explain everything. Just please come with me to the party.”

I really hoped myself would believe what he just said, but I was too scared.

“No one will hurt you there. I promise.” He said as if he could read my mind. He put the bag on the floor and  took my hand inside his.”Please.”

I bit my lips to avoid the tears from rolling down; I didn’t want to show him how weak I was. I didn’t know whether I was doing the right thing or not, but I couldn’t take the fact that he begged me. Taking a deep breath, I finally nodded.

EMMANUEL POV

few hours later... The masquerade party...

My silver mask accentuated my aquiline nose. Melly was standing right beside me; she wore a beautiful teal with white lace vintage 80’s dress, it had a unique wrap style neckline and attractive ruched front with floral sequin adornment. She wore a teal mask which suited her dress and her blue-ish green lens. She let loose her curly auburn hair behind her back.

The hall was already filled with half of students, we were waiting for Tabby. When I asked Melly how she managed to convince her, she just simply stated she didn’t. We didn’t for too long, Tabby stepped into the hall wearing a black taffeta embroidered gown with beading decoration around the sweetheart neckline. A stiff blue with black lace ribbon is belted around her waist and adorned with the black silk flower clipped at back. The magenta feathers of her golden mask accentuated her long, gorgeous, dark brown curly hair that flew down to the middle of her back. She was looking incredibly gorgeous, my eyes refused to look on other direction, it were just set on her.

Matt escorted her toward us; I didn’t pay any attention to him until he spoke.”Well, let’s go then.” He wore a golden luxury mask.  They looked so cute together, honestly. I just nodded and offered my arm to Melly, and I escorted her to the hall behind Matt and Tabby.
