Hands in his pockets, feet trailing across the ground, eyes fixated on the intricate patterns of the gravel, Matt made his way up the drive and onto the street. He smiled as he thought back to the nice lady Mrs. Howard the next house along- he could get used to her living there. As for friends-wise, she has a son he has yet to meet, meaning Matt could finally have someone to hang out with if they happen to be Matt's type. He hoped so anyway.

"Fuck!!" Falling hard onto the side of his head, Matt groaned as he squinted his eyes at the crack in the pavement. It had always been there, yet in his deep train of thought, it had completely escaped his mind. He felt long, strong arms quickly pick him up by the waist and his arms drape across a stranger's shoulders, as a faint voice tried to call for him.
"Hello..?" Matt slurred as his vision slowly faded out. He could make out a couple words coming from the blurry stranger, yet they were still distorted due to his pounding headache and the sheer amount of hair covering his paling face.
"What.... num.. live in.." The stranger almost shouted, their voice becoming more distant. Matt narrowed his eyes up at the sky and mumbled his house number, before slowly blacking out as a result from the bruise on his head.
