Chapter 10 Insane luck

Rose's P.O.V   *a few months later*

I staggered along holding my side using each tree i stumbled past for support. 'I've got to keep moving. Don't stop, just one foot in front of the other' My throat contracted making me cough out a few globs of blood. 'This is bad.'

A rather loud howl echod over top of me, my eyes grew wide despite my blurred vision. 'You've got to be kidding me.' The bushes were shoved to the ground, the large beast that had been pursing me approached quickly stomping the ground with each step.  I backed as far as i could into the tree behind me, but it didn't help at all. The animal raised it's huge paw bringing it down stabbing clean through me and deep into the wood. I screamed, blood basicaly poured from my mouth choking me.

gasping for air: "Wou..would..you just..leave..m..me alone!" He retracted his claw freeing me from the tree, but my knees buckled against my will. I could barely see him start to raise his paw for the second time. "Well, shit."

His paw slammed me into me pushing me into the now dented ground. The weight ontop was crushing my rips from the side as more blood seeped out the corner of my mouth, but the beast howled in pain as something pushed it to the side. Someone picked me up, craddled me in their arms and tried to talk to me.

Shakingly i raised my hand and whoever it was gripped my hand: "Wh..who..are...are you?" I coughed out more of the warm red liquid. "I ca..can't re..really see."

Whoever it was leaned down close to my ear: "It's Kiba. You don't have to worry anymore."

I smiled: "Ki..kiba." but i didn't get to enjoy the feeling of relief very long for everything quickly went black and my head fell limp against his chest.

Kiba's P.O.V

I kept a steady pace  as jumping through the trees on our way back from a mission. Akamaru whined, sighing i turned to him: "I know you miss her pal, i do to, but we don't even know.."

Akamaru stopped running, his little head tilted as he looked off to the right: "I can smell her!"

I had to stop as well: "How can yo.."Her scent finally reached my nose. "Rose..." But then a painful scream filled our ears. "Rose! Come on boy!"

27 seconds later we spotted Rose as she was slammed into the ground by some mutant wolf. Akamaru barked, i nodded in agreement. We used fang over fang landing a direct hit to the animal's side sending him a few yards back. After decideing he wasn't going to get back up anytime soon, i looked at rose. Her body lay bloodied in the indent in the ground from the force behind that beast swing. I quickly kneeled down gently picking her up, i held her close to me moving the hair out of her face.

She slowly raised a shakey hand, i gripped it to reasure her i was here: "Wh..who..are...are you?" I frowned as she coughed out some blood. "I ca..can't re..really see."

I leaned down close to her ear: "It's Kiba. You don't have to worry any more."

She smiled despite the pain i'm sure she could still feel: "Ki..kiba." But as soon as she did her hand fell from mine, her head rolled to the side as her body went limp.

Akamaru barked at me, glancing behind us the weird animal was struggling to move and get up: "We should get going now!"

: "I agree, let's go!" I quickly made sure Rose was secure in my arms before jumping back into the trees and bolted for the village.

Rose's P.O.V

Groaning i cracked my eyes open: "Ow..." Slowly i opened my a bit more adjusting to the light, suddenly i remebered what happened before i passed out. I snapped up into a sitting postition. "KIBA!"

Firm hands gripped my shoulders, forcing me to lay back down. I looked over sighing in relief.

Kiba looked slightly worried: "Chill, i'm right here. You need to keep still so you don't pop your stitches."

I looked down lightly placing a hand on my stomach, flinching at the touch.

Kiba reached for my hand gently pulling it back away from my injury: "If it hurts don't touch it."

Smiling: "I do believe that was what i said to you the last time we were in the hospital."

Kiba smiled as well: "Yeah, execpt our situation was the opposite of what it is now."

: "You were an being an idiot, as for me..well.."

Kiba held his arms out for me, i nodded my head, he stood up embracing me as i sat: "If you want to talk about it, i'll listen."

Tears found their way down my cheeks as i shook my head: "Thank you Kiba, but ...i don't think i'll ever be able to talk about all the things that happened to me at that wretched place."

Kiba held me tighter against his chest: "You don't have to worry about any of that any more, cause i'll be right here."

Lightly pushing myself back, i reached up placing a hand on Kiba's cheek. He slowly leaned down resting his head against mine: "Thank you Kiba." I tilted my head up letting our lips meet in a short, but sweet kiss.
