Fate's Key

Once was I trapped in a frigid hollow shell,

with bricks of solitude my walls were made.

Surrounded on all sides by a deceiving spell,

dancing flames for smoldering embers I did trade.

.

Blood stains marked Time's dreary march,

while a choking tether kept me from reach.

Lost in wayward circles under a crumbling arch,

only prayers of mine had the power of speech.

.

Stalking from afar was Fate's discerning hand,

busy forging a double edged key.

Smothered so deeply in life so bland,

it took a piercing plunge to set me free.

.

Reeling from the revival lurched I for breath,

clutching my core where the wound stirred.

Looking behind saw I an end far worse than death,

but before was the key who's purpose was unblurred.

.

Her gaze burrowed further than ever I could allow,

past the splintered bone and beyond severed veins.

With touch intangible that only her kind endow,

she turned whispering tears into joyous rains.

.

Pulling me so gently from a tomb so stale,

her treasured beam annointed me her grateful prey.

Following wonders that litter her trail,

she's led me with a vision that keeps demons at bay.

.

The shine of her sparkle now renders me anew,

and her presence alone steadies my every sway.

Her spring time essence paints each sky blue,

making her all I need to conquer any day.
