Seeing or Believing

 Jack stumbled a little and chuckled, saying," Of course I am, why wouldn't I be?" He chuckled once more while Julia had her legs wrapped around his waist and hugged him tightly. Rachel and Bella watched as the happy girl floated in midair. Rachel smiled and stifled a laugh. Jack's face, which was currently between, awkward and humorous from the girl's actions.

Rachel giggled but stops once she glanced at Bella's confused face. "You still can't see him?!" She asked Bella, dumbfounded. Bella stared at Julia hanging in mid-air but then started to see a silhouette, "Oh my guardians !" She narrowed her eyes slightly and let her mouth drop open in shock and disbelief. Jack stood there, staring at Bella as well, and thought, 'She's kinda cute'. Fed up with Julia, he attempted to pry her off, but she stuck to him like glue. Rachel sighed and poked Julia in her ticklish spot which immediately made Julia let go and fall straight into the snow. Jack chuckled and walked up to Bella slowly as he tilted his head, Bella saw footprints in the snow and let out a cold shaky breath. Jack smirked and reached an icy pale hand out to her cheek, Rachel and Julia watched, anticipating that the shivering girl would see him.

Jack smiled as he came a few feet closer and stopped just as his fingers were about to brush her cheek. Bella waited but never felt anything as the footsteps halted in the snow, she felt a breath on her face. Bella shivered as she felt her hair tingle on her cheek as she knew something was about to touch her. Jack leaned closer to her and circled her form in interest and tilted his head and thought "Why can't she see me?". Bella saw the footsteps circle around her and stayed still, slightly nervous thinking Jack Frost was circling her.

Rachel and Julia watched and Jack circled her, Julia smiled and crossed her arms while watching with a smug look as if to say, "I told you so." Rachel took a moment and looked up and saw the Moon, and lightly smiled, feeling the moon's rays shine on Julia's street. The blonde tilted her head and furrowed her brows as she thought, "It looks like it's searching for something!" Jack walked back in front of her and smiled as he let a magical snowflake settle on her nose, Bella gasped as she felt the snowflake, and blinked rapidly, stumbling back a step slightly as it explodes on her nose in a million sparkles and snow. Jack waited and hoped it would work in the moment, Bella opened her eyes and giggled as the snowflake disappeared revealing a better silhouette, she saw a pale boy standing in front of her at least three inches taller than her. Jack smirked as he saw the girl see him for the first time and smiled.

"No. Way..." Bella gasped and automatically gaped at him. "Ummmmm, guys, you weren't kidding?" She asked, and began turning even redder than before in the cold. "Yup," Julia smugly responded, waiting for Bella to react on her crush, that she had for more than two years. "Ummm," Bella stuttered and almost broke down into tears. She began running away, screeching from seeing what she had seen. "Bella?" Rachel called out, and all three; Jack, Rachel, and Julia ran to where Bella ran off. 'Greatest day of my life. Greatest day of my LIFE!' Bella thought, reaching a tiny bench that had been hidden from sight, off of Julia's property, in a grove of evergreen trees that were right outside of Julia's fence.

And she broke down crying, tears falling, and blinding her vision. 'At least crying was better than passing out,' she thought, giggling at her joke, and began wiping away the tears. "Hey, Bella is it? Are you okay?" A voice could be heard, crunching on the dead pine needles on the dirt, snow, and grass floor. "Yeah, I'm okay, it's a little much for a teenage girl to handle, especially for me." Bella put her knees to her head and got off the bench, smiling and imagining all the moments she had reading about a fictional hero and Jack Frost, kissing, flirting with each other, and dating. The magic word: dating. Bella looked up from her hidey hole to see Jack staring back at her with a smile that she had only imagined, a smile full of love. At least, that was what she hoped to see in him.

Bella madly blushed, which made her body feel a little warmer seeing as she didn't have a coat on, only a thick sweater. "What brings you here in Bethlehem, Jack? It's a few hours from Burgess but still," Bella began a conversation, but perhaps not the perfect starter topic.

"Well, Manny, er I mean the Man in the Moon requested that- hey! Wait a minute. How'd you know I was from Burgess, Pennsylvania?"

Rachel and Julia watch the conversation go on and giggled quietly, Julia looked at the blonde and smiled. "She finally sees him and she has a breakdown ?" Rachel went to laugh but stopped as her hairs on the back of her neck rose up as she looked around and felt eyes on everyone but mostly Jack. Julia looked at her and frowned as she waves her hand in front of the girl's face, saying,

"Rachel- Rachel you ok there? " Rachel looked to Julia and snapped out of the daze that the predicament had put her in and slightly smile " U-um yea, I'm good, I think," Julia nodded and looked around once not sensing anything and looked back to Jack and Bella.

Jack slightly frowned as he felt a pair of eyes on him and kept listening to Bella. The brunette looked at Jack and smiled happily thinking, 'He is actually real, Jack Frost is real !!' Bella shivered slightly and frowned, Jack saw the shiver and frowned more. "Bella, are you cold?" She looked up at the frosty boy and giggled lightly while nodding once, "A little bit." Jack smiled and walks to her and puts his arm around her shoulder and in one swift move, picked Bella up bridal style with his other arm being under her knees and smiled. Bella blushed and smiled as she leaned into Jack's chest slightly and breathed in his fresh snow scent, with the hint of Christmas cookies. She wondered suddenly if he had been to the North Pole but decided to ask him later as she felt the exhaustion get to her and slowly fluttered her eyes, Jack saw this and slightly smiled. "Let's go inside guys." Rachel and Julia nodded while they lead Jack inside the Shively's house for the first time. Bella blushed and smiled as he walked with her in his arms into the house.

Julia opened the door and smiled like a 5-year-old in a candy shop, and lead Jack into the house, Rachel closed the door and locked it for good measure, feeling like the presence would come back soon. Julia leads Jack up the stairs and made sure her parents didn't see Bella floating in mid-air. Jack followed Julia up the steps quickly, Rachel stopped as she heard Mrs. Shively, " Rachel, everyone ok?" She smiled back and nodded, saying, "Yep, everyone's good." The mom nodded back to the blonde and looked back at the tv. Rachel ran all the rest of the way up the steps and slammed the door shut making everyone jump slightly. Julia went back to sitting on the bottom bunk and smiled while she was staring at Bella in Jack's arms. Rachel smiled from ear to ear and looked at Jack smiling and looking down at her, realizing Bella was asleep breathing lightly and smiling in his arms.
