All the guardians had no idea what was going on, they didn't have phones or any way of contacting; except for the northern lights. Rachel put it on the speaker option and set it on the table. "U-um...", the blonde didn't know what to say. Julia and Bella intervened with nervous smiles. "Hey, Mrs. Carraghan!! What's up?" Both the girls were once again interrupted by the worried parent but this time Mrs. Shively jumped in "Julia Shively where are you?!", Julia flinched and sighed. Bella looked to the worried girls and then to the time on the phone. Shit. it was almost close to 11:00 o'clock pm.
This was bad. Not only had they been training for the whole day like that, but they had gotten ahead of themselves. Mrs. Carraghan and Mrs. Shively listened to the phone worried until they felt relief hearing the three. They weren't exactly mad but they were aggravated, and more the fact worried that the girls didn't let them know where they were going.
Rachel looked to the phone on the table and frowned, might as well tell them the truth. "Ok, I know you won't believe us... But we're with the Guardians", she blurted out. Bella and Julia looked to each other in confusion at the tactic and continued to play along.
Mrs. Carraghan and Mrs. Shively looked to each other knowing their daughters were obsessed with them and the franchise but never would think to play a trick like this. They looked back to the phone and frowned. "Ok, we know you girls are obsessed with them, but please tell us the truth, Rachel I'm serious!". Rachel frowned not knowing what to say. Bella frowned and decided to speak up, "Come on, you have to believe us, I know it sounds weird but we're telling the truth!". Julia nodded, "Yes, please believe us".
Mrs. Carraghan pinched the bridge of her nose and ran her fingers through her thin but soft hair. "Ok, enough. This is getting out of hand. First, Miranda is talking about meeting Santa, the Tooth fairy and the Easter bunny?! Now you three are saying you're hanging out with them?!" Mrs. Shively agreed and was internally concerned. "You three need to come home. Now.", the mom emphasized the word 'Now' and clenched her fists.
The three widened their eyes at this and frowned. This is not going as planned, Rachel finally answered and nodded "Alright, we will be home in a couple of minutes". Julia and Bella looked to her in confusion and frowned before seeing her end the call.
The guardians tensed and had looked to her also. "You heard them. Let's go home" she stood and left the room with a pained face and went outside to go to the platform they all had landed on first getting here. North stood there with a plate in his hand and a surprised look on his face. Cupid sat there in shock, Tooth was nervously fluttering around in one place while Mother Nature gave her a solemn look knowing she was doing the right thing.
Sandy was the second to follow and then Tooth. Everyone looked to each other before filing out into the sunny landing and felt the sun rays glow on their skin in warmth. Rachel was standing there waiting for everyone and had not said a word.
North frowned and shouted, "House!" as he threw the globe and Julia's house appeared through the glassy and watery shield. At the Shively's house, the two mothers were inside waiting and unknown of the portal from outside. The three girls made it through first and then the rest of the guardians including Cupid. Everyone was met with the sound of the brunette's dog, Jake, barking in happiness that his owner was back. Crickets chirped under the moonlight and welcomed the strangers and regulars to the property.
Bunny hesitantly hid behind Julia, who in which smiled faintly. Rachel walked up to the gate and widened her eyes a little remembering the events that went on in the backyard. The night was dark and silent other than the scuff of the group's feet. She let out a breath and went in petting the midnight dog and then let Julia open the door. The mothers perked up hearing the back door open and quickly raced out only to embrace the three.
