The news was currently the only sound that filled the trailer, it was currently mid-January and I was too cold to move, the snow outside seemed to cover everything, the small heaters in the trailer weren't doing much to keep me warm.
I held a mug of coffee in my hands, taking a sip, I didn't bother too much with how hot the liquid was, I heard the wind whistle as the storm seemed to be starting, the news had said even though snow had fallen, Detroit was in for a storm.
I had taken my exams but results weren't out yet, I had gone to class this morning only to be told all classes were to be cancelled for today and the rest of the week, we were given a list of things to study and be ready to answer questions next week.
"Ay!"
I yawned and blinked tiredly as I flicked off the TV, the idea of a nap seemed to be a good idea.
"Ay!"
I frowned as I heard a bang on the trailer, I set my mug down and stood up, I glanced outside the window, Marshall stood with a stroller, a changing bag over one shoulder and Lainey in his arms, I moved quickly and opened the trailer door, Marshall passed Lainey to me, her coat cold with snow on it, she had a woolly hat on, she could barely see out, Marshall had it low on her head and a scarf wrapped around her neck, the only thing visible were her small eyes.
"It's freezing" Marshall said, he looked blue, he had wrapped Lainey in warm clothes but he looked to have sweats on with a jumper and a beanie on his head.
My eyes snapped to the stroller he had brought with him, it wasn't Lainey's stroller, it was newer, bigger, a small noise was coming from it, I flicked the TV over to Lainey's favorite show and set her down, I took her coat off and she threw her hat and scarf down and went to the small pile of toys to play.
"Is this her?" I asked turning back to Marshall, he smiled and nodded.
My interest was piqued, I took a few steps forward and peeked into the stroller, I felt Marshall lay his head on my shoulder, his arms wrapped around my waist lightly. "Hailie Jade Mathers" He whispered into my ear. It was almost on cue but Hailie stirred, her face lifting at one side slightly as if she was smiling, she looked so small and perfect, her eyes closed, she looked peaceful.
Marshall moved from behind me and took a few layers of blankets from Hailie, she started to stir, annoyed at Marshall for disturbing her peaceful sleep, he picked her up and kissed her head "You wanna hold her?" He asked as he took a step towards me, I took a step backwards and shook my head.
"I can't" I muttered, Marshall looked confused "She's too small, I could hurt her" She looked fragile, as if she could break, I had never held a baby before.
Marshall rolled his eyes and took another step towards me, he seemed to almost push her into my arms, he fixed my arms to hold her and before I knew it I was holding Hailie, she stirred for a few seconds before yawning and falling back asleep. "She's perfect" I whispered as I looked down at her, her small body was warm against me "Everything ok?" I asked as I reluctantly looked up from the small bundle in my arms.
Marshall rubbed the back of his neck and leaned against the kitchen counter "Don't suppose you'd want us to stay the night with you?" he stretched a little to cast an eye over Lainey but she was still playing with her toys as she sang along to a song from the cartoons.
"Always" I couldn't help but smile as my eyes went back to looking at Hailie.

Marshalls blue eyes seemed to sparkle, a smirk on his lips "Phalanges"
