Hey guys! How is everyone doing? I hope you all are good. So i'm back with an update for you all. Happy Reading!

KIA'S POV:

I kept tossing and turning on the bed for over an hour. Had it not been for the exhaustion, i don't think i would have fallen asleep. In less than half an hour or so i woke up with a jolt, my body drenched in sweat. Another nightmare. Same thing all over again. I drank some water and tried to go back to sleep brushing away all the memories in a far corner. But this time i couldn't fall asleep.

Everything kept playing in mind and i suddenly started feeling claustrophobic. I tried to breathe but it was like i was stuck in vacuum. I had to do something, i had to get out of here and there was only one place i knew i could go which would help. I got up and put on a hoodie. I made my way down very quietly. After grabbing my house keys and the car keys, i went to my car and drove into the dark and lonely night.

Flashback

Today i was in a really bad space of mind. I had an argument with my parents last night which ended up in me running out of the house early in the morning to avoid facing them. I just kept walking not even realising where i was going. After 20 minutes of doing this i finally ended up in front of Ashville High. School didn't start for another two hours so there was no one around. I made my way over to the lawn and sat down on a bench. It was chilly and i didn't grab a sweater while leaving, so here i was freezing.

I just sat there lost in my own world. Suddenly i felt my phone vibrating, i looked at the caller id and it was Andrew. I answered. But before i could say anything, i heard his voice.

Andrew:" Where are you? Are you okay?"

Kia:" Hi to you too. I'm at school. Why?"

Andrew:" Do you even know how worried i was?! I dropped by your house in the morning to pick you up but your mom said she didn't know where you were because clearly you weren't in your room and no one knew where you were not even Susan or Stacy. And i left you a dozen messages and calls but you didn't reply."

Before he could go on any further, i interrupted him midway

Kia:" Andrew, breathe. I'm fine. I'm at school. I had some work so i left early. I'm sorry i forgot to text you and as for the messages and calls, my phone was in my bag so i didn't really see it."

Andrew:" God Kia! You should have told me you had to go early. I would come."

Kia:" It's okay. It's not like i can't come to school on my own. Anyways the bottom line is, i didn't disappear. I'm safe and at school so see you there." and before he could reply i hung up.

In less than ten minutes i saw Andrew's car pull up in the school parking lot. He spotted me sitting on the bench and i made no move to get up. He walked up to me and sat beside me. Turning to me he offered me a smile trying to tread dangerous waters. I smiled back at him and said a "Good Morning". We both just stay there sitting in silence looking at each other. He knew i wasn't ready to talk about anything so he gave me my space. When the bell rang we made our way into the building together hand in hand.

I managed to make it till lunch without any new troubles but somehow i could feel myself distracted. And apparently so could Andrew. So when we were waiting in the lunch line he whispered to me "Wanna get away for the rest of the day?" and i agreed in a heartbeat. Clearly he wasn't expecting me to say yes so easily thus he was surprised. Honestly at that moment if he asked me to get away from that country with him i would have said yes. Literally.

We waved to our friends and exited the cafeteria and the school building, grinning at each other like little kids all the way. It was only when we were seated in his car did i ask him where we were going. He looked at me shyly and said "Somewhere special". That just made me more excited. I somehow felt peaceful with him. It's like nothing could touch me as long as he was there. And that made me both happy and scared.
