Boyd watched you in awe at first. Then it became a fun pass time while waiting for the rink to close. You could be in typical work out clothes, or dazzling costumes to test how they would constrict you on the ice. It was amazing to see you with that calm, serene expression that would break into a grin once you landed a triple axel or slipped up,money to laugh at your own failure. Maybe that's what he liked the most about watching you. Your expressions. Your laugh. You didn't let your trip ups effect you.

It wasn't until that laugh turned to a huff of frustration that he frowned. He'd been watching you do this for almost three months now. Perfecting your routine again and again, modifying it the slightest bit each week. Harder tricks, even harder landings.

You had ripped a hole in your leggings, sitting on the ice in defeat. You always practiced late at night, so it was just you and him left their in the icy aired rink. He saw red stain around the hole, frowning. His feet moved before he could think about it, stepping onto the ice with practiced steps. He rarely slipped anymore with his job.

He knelt besides you, looking at your scraped knee.

"Are you okay?" He asked softly. You looked up at him in surprise.

"Oh, hey...You're the guy who cleans the ice, right?"

"Yeah. Everyone calls me Boyd."

"I'm sorry for bleeding on your ice." You grumbled slightly, pulling yourself up.

"We..."

"Hm?" You looked at him as he stood, gripping the side of the rink.

"We have a kit...first aid, if you wanna patch up your knee?" You smiled lightly at his offer.

"That would be nice, thanks." You limped over to him on your skates, exiting the rink as he left to get the kit. He was kind of excited, the fact that he was finally able to talk to you. He never really made any friends, so it was nice even if it was just talking...

"Here you go." Boyd passed you the first aid kit and sat besides you as you opened the kit.

"So..."

"Yeah?"

"I noticed you've been watching my routine. Not here to steal it are you?" You joked lightly and Boyd could feel his face heat.

"Uh, no, of course not, I just...I like watching you skate. It's...really beautiful." You smiled brightly at his compliment.

"Thank you. I work really hard. I don't usually get so down after a fall, but theirs a competition up in Toronto, Canada in a month and I really don't want to fail." You sighed.

"That's pretty far, huh?" He'd never been out of Beacon Hills besides from field trips.

"Yeah. I travel a lot, but my true homes Beacon Hills for sure." You grinned. "You from here too?"

"Yeah. The family can't afford to go on trips." He shrugged. He was amazed at how easy this interaction felt. He thought it would be much harder to talk to a pretty girl.

"That sucks. I get free tickets there if I sign up. It's pretty awesome. Maybe I could take you as my plus one for your kindness." You grinned at him, eyes sparkling as you stop, knee now patched.

"Uh, yeah, maybe sometime..." Boyd smiled at you, swallowing down the butterflies. "Are you heading home now?"

"Yeah, I'm gonna take a few days off to relax. The stress will get to me if I don't." You started to unlace your skates.

"Then, how about we go out? As friends, of course, but-...Maybe it would help you relax if you had some fun."

"Definitely. I'll meet you outside the Sheriff's Station at ten?"

"Morning?"

"Obviously. I need my beauty sleep." He didn't think she needed anymore beauty, but sure.

"I can work with that. We'll walk around town and find something to do."

"Perfect." You grinned, slipping your skates off and walking to your locker with a small wave goodbye. Boyd felt practically on air.

❄️☀️❄️☀️❄️

Boyd and you became fast friends. Whether you were at the ice rink, or walking around town with ice cream, you were practically glued to each other's sides. That's why you weren't surprised when Boyd asked you to the beach. The weather was getting warmer in Beacon Hills, and you'd be flying out to your competition in a few days. You agreed and you planned to go the next day.

He'd only ever seen you in sweats, skates or costume, so you laughed when he spit a little bit of his soda into the sand. You had worn your favourite swimsuit, the one that made you look and feel the best. Boyd obviously thought you looked good if his expression was anything to go by.

"Hey." You chuckled, sitting by him. "Ready to swim?" A grin formed on both your faces.

"Sure." You pulled him up to stand, running into the waves. You spent the rest of the day in the sun and ocean, high on life and playing with Boyd.

Once the sun was setting and you were collecting your things, Boyd asked you to be his (girl/boy)friend. You practically jumped him in a hug, excitingly agreeing.

❄️☀️❄️☀️❄️

The day of your tournament, Boyd was in the audience, cheering you on. In the end, you only won third place, a bronze hanging from your neck. He almost slipped on the ice when he came to hug you, smiling so happily.

"I didn't win." You shrugged.

"Well, you're my winner." Boyd must have forgotten that they were filming the competition, because he kiss you right on national television. You didn't really care though.

You were definitely a winner.
