Jackson waited at the alter, waiting for his bride-to-be to walk down the aisle in all her beautiful glory. He already knows she's going to take everyone's breath away.
She does. She takes everyone's breath away when she walks in, wedding dress trailing behind her like the princess she is, veil like a tiara in her perfect strawberry blonde hair. Stiles is holding her arm and squeezing her hand as he gives her away to him. A decision the friends had made years ago drunkenly.
Her eyes are sparkling with joy when she's finally within arms reach of Jackson, holding his hand tightly in hers. She knew Jackson was nervous about this. About finally having his own family in the form of a wife and future children. He'd no longer be an orphan in his mind, as he'd finally have a family to hold onto. That thought scared him a bit. Having something that he could lose again.
Lydia was worth it though. He knew she was worth it when she said her vows to him. Everyone probably expected her to gush about happiness and love and the wonderful thought of marrying the man of her dreams, but instead she only said a few words.
"I do. I do still love you." Thought those wonders bewildered most in the church, some people remembered those words. His pack remembered those words, because they were special words. Words that made Jackson no longer afraid or nervous to marry this amazingly intelligent woman in front of him.
He'd killed so many, hurt people who didn't deserve it, yet she had come into his arms and held him tight and whispered her love for him in tears. She loved him no matter what he was or does. This woman is a gift from God, was all Jackson could think.
When they exchanged the rings, Jackson could only stare at the shinning rock on her finger, amazed of how well he did in life.
"Do you?" Jackson murmured as the priest pronounced them husband and wife.
"I do." Lydia whispered back, emerald eyes filled with unshed tears. Jackson didn't both to resist the urge to pull her in close and kiss his wife.
Wife. The word sounded so right to him.
As they left the church, hoping into their 'just married' car, Jackson watched as his wife broke down in tears of happiness and joy, smiling despite her running makeup that Jackson only found endearing at this point.
"I think I'm falling in love with your smile all over again." Jackson smiled as Lydia laughed.
"God, I love you. You big idiot."
"One of us has to be, or we wouldn't be here right now. Together."
"Together." She agreed, kissing him gently.
They drove away form the venue, hands linked tightly.
Jacksons couldn't help but think, that after everything they'd been through,
"I do. I do still love you, Lydia."
