"Hey Isaac." Danny smiled at his boyfriend, who smiled meekly at him.
"Hey." Isaac said softly, leaning against his locker as he fiddled with his bag strap. They'd only been dating a few days, but Isaac was practically beaming at the attention and the simple fact that someone liked him.
"I just thought I should ask, but will you go to the Winter Formal with me?" Danny gave him a bright smile, Isaac's head bobbing up and down in agreement.
"Yes, definitely, uh, I'll...see you there." Isaac left the lockers, pink face and wide grin hidden behind his phone before he rode home.

Danny watched Scott leave with a thank you, surprised at suddenly being pulled away from Isaac to dance with Scott. He turned back to Isaac, who looked a bit pouty and reserved when Danny tried to give him a shrugged smile.
He took his cup from Isaac's hand, sipping it as his boyfriend did the same, not looking at him.
"What's wrong?" Danny sighed, wrapping an arm around his waist to sway him lightly. "Was it Scott?"
"You could have said no." Isaac mumbled. He was insecure about the relationship, not certain if Danny really loved him or not, but he didn't say it out loud.
"Look, I'm sorry, I was just kinda surprised. Come on, let's dance." Danny put their drinks down and led the teen over to the dance floor.

Even after the dance, Isaac kept overthinking it. Did Danny prefer dark haired guys more? He knew Scott was straight, but still...
He heard a knock at his door and sighed loudly, walking over and opening it.
"Yes?"
"Delivery for Isaac Lahey." The delivery man smiled, passing him the bouquet of red and yellow tulips. His favourite. He mentioned it to Danny once, but he didn't think the boy would remember. Who else would send him flowers after all?
"Thank you." Isaac took them and closed to door, noticing the bouquet was wrapped with a dark blue scarf imprinted with snowflakes. A Winter scarf. He grinned to himself as he noticed a brightly coloured note in the flowers, plucking it from the cluster.
He was sure his smile was going to split his face.
'I only wanna dance with you - Love Danny.'
Isaac placed the gift aside and grabbed his ignored phone.
