Okay, This time I really won't be writing any words of wisdom, just another warning that we will be needing a lot of ice cream, tissues and water after this chapter... Well... I at least do. I am writing this fanfic, why am I so emotional about this... oh boy...

Viktor was sitting at his desk, looking tense. So, Count Rosenberg indeed had a secret agenda as had been pointed out to him before. Therefor he wasn't all that surprised and the more he thought about it, a lot of things started to add up. He might well be responsible for the tabloids though confronting him straight away might not be the best idea.
"The tabloid article is easily refutable."
"Is it really your majesty? With all due respect but you can never deny your own weaknesses... or your own feelings. You still have feelings for this... Heine Wittgenstein. How do you suppose the people will react if they find out that this servant was a man who was once a criminal. As the High Steward of Prince Eins, I am supposed to be well informed."
Count Rosenberg had dismissed the guards at the study, giving them a different assignment so there would be no busybodies hearing them talk. This was a private conversation.
Victor wasn't going to take Count Rosenberg call Heine a criminal. He wasn't a criminal, he never had been. Most of the time, Count Rosenberg wasn't the one dirtying his hands or even take those words in the mouth but now... And Eins was simply standing there looking apathetically.
In all honesty, Victor had never been really bothered by the Count's presence, or let's say he didn't show it, though he had been wary around him ever since he brought Licht back home after finding out he worked in a cafe and when he tried to bring in a Tutor of his own choosing. Did Rosenberg honestly believe that all it would take for Viktor to hand over the throne was taking out Heine and a rumor that had had lost all bases of truth.
"I really hate to oppose Your Majesty but, I am simply thinking about what is best for the people. Prince Eins is more than qualified to ascend the throne if I may be so bold as to suggest. Perhaps he could take over you duties for the moment being until the people have calmed down."
Maybe by then, Eins will continue as King.
Count Rosenberg wasn't opposed to that idea.
"Count Rosenberg, aren't you being a bit hasty with your conclusions and suggestions. It would seem that you have thought this through pretty well. You really would want nothing more than for Eins to become King. Now, as long as I am King, I will be deciding on my successor, not you."
Viktor tried to remain polite but he sounded authoritative, tense, almost ready for battle but he wouldn't be using a battle of fists, he would be battling with words and minds.
"Do tell me the truth Count."
Rosenberg's eyes had a cold piercing gaze in them s he was staring at this stubborn man. A man he was only obeying when it was convenient. Perhaps he had been mistaken an this man wasn't a easily deceived as he first anticipated.
"Is that a request, or an order Your Majesty?"
I almost sounded like a sneer as if he was taunting him.
