-New York City, 2:53 PM, Tuesday Afternoon, Underground Base of the U.N.S.A-

War isn't a pretty thing for anyone to see...especially children. Earth was nearly destroyed by several wars that were caused by humanity itself. The recent bombing back in Atlanta, Georgia nearly crippled the Squads Delta, Bravo and Charlie...the rest of the squads unfortunately...didn't make it. The two most devastating wars humanity has ever seen were World War II, and World War III. Back in 2037, World War III had started. The ones at war were all of Asia...and then the rest of the world. At the year of 2045, the war had ended, Asia lost. A male stood in an office, holding a file that had big red letters stamped in front of it, saying Classified. The male was tall, almost six feet, he was quite fit. He looked like he could hold his own against a Pro Wrestler. He had a black biker's jacket over his shoulders with a white, sleeveless shirt underneath. He wore black leather pants to match the outfit, along with finger-less gloves and a pair of biker boots. He had medium long black hair that only stretched down to his neck, along with bright blue eyes. The male sighed as he tossed the file onto his desk, shaking his head. Where are they coming from...? *The male thought to himself. The male was referring to the demonic creatures only known as Souless. They were infamous for killing their victims before absorbing their victim's soul, then moving onto the next. No matter what humanity threw at them, it was nearly impossible to actually stop them...unless it involves nuclear radiation. Humanity believes World War III created these creatures...but the male knew that wasn't true. These were demons...demons aren't created by nuclear warfare. The Souless appeared a few months after the war. That's when the world truly united. Knock knock knock! The male heard a strong fist knocking against the office's wooden door. He looked over towards the door and spoke up. "Come in!" The door slowly swung open. A soldier stood at the doorway, a kid. He looked to be in his late teens...maybe nineteen years old. "General Taylor!" The soldier called out as he saluted towards the Taylor. That's right, a Taylor. The general was named Xeno Lucas Taylor. He was famous for destroying many, many Souless with his own blade...but people didn't know how, nor did they question it. "What is it?" Xeno asked the rookie. "There's a letter for you, sir! It's from Admiral Ikaros!" The rookie stated enthusiastically as he held out an enveloped letter. Merlin? Xeno thought to himself. He walked over to the rookie and took the letter, then he dismissed him as he opened the letter and scanned it.

Dear Xeno,

I'm sending a Sarah Ikaros towards your location. A boy who looks about the age of seventeen is with her. He's known as the Cursed One. You need to make sure the boy doesn't reveal his secret to the humans, because if they find out, they will kill him. If we have any chance of winning this war, we need to place our bets into that boy. He holds the key to ending this war, along with the Souless. Teach him what you know, my boy. Share some of your magic with him, and teach him how to use that blade of his.

From: Merlin Ikaros

P.S: Do not...underestimate the boy. I sensed a terrifying power lurking within himself. One wrong move...and it will mean the end of you.

Xeno only sighed as he crumpled up the paper, tossing it away into the trash can. He slowly sat on his desk, placing the tip of his fingers against his own forehead. The entire world has to rely on a kid? Xeno asked himself. That's absurd! Even if he is the Cursed One...Merlin was right though. If this...Cursed One went down the wrong path, he could do more damage than the Souless...which was pretty bad compared to the situation they were in now. The entire world's cities were in ruins. There are some rebels that oppose the U.N.S.A....even though the only thing the united world was trying to do was save the humans from an ultimate doom...which only felt like an inevitable doom. Either way, Xeno had his orders. He was to wait for Sarah and the boy to arrive...the best he could do was alert the scouts that there were visitors coming...he didn't want to kill off the only "hope" for humanity.

-Massachusetts, 3:25 AM, Wednesday Morning-

Sarah and Leon remained on the road....it's been nearly twelve hours since Leon had sleep...Sarah on the other hand, had just woken up. Leon only remained silent as he drove the old, Honda truck. Leon didn't dare speak...Sarah only stared, which made him tense up. Sarah only raised an eyebrow at that fact. They remained silent the entire trip...passing by ruined buildings, and several homeless people. "Tch..." Sarah looked out the window, away from Leon. Idiot... She thought to herself. Why am I stuck with this...kid?!
