We stood in what looked like a sparring room. We as in Sarah, Xeno and I. There were practice weapons all over the place in this room, plus a sparring mat. "Do you know how to wield a sword?" Xeno asked me. I only silently shook my head. Xeno sighed softly, then grabbed two practice katanas and tossed one to me. I barely caught it. "We're gonna start teaching you then." Xeno said. I blinked, then tilted my head. "What techniques are you gonna teach me?" I asked. Before I knew it, Xeno swung the wooden blade at me, I however, barely dodged it, my own eyes widening as the tip of the blade grazed my shoulder. "First hand experience is the best technique!" Xeno snapped. I held up the katana lazily, but I couldn't be blamed. I've never wielded a sword...so I was just gonna use it as a baseball bat. Xeno dashed at me at full speed, swinging the katana, but I brought up the wooden blade, letting his own blade bounce off mine, but Xeno's recovery was flawless. He quickly spun around and slammed his wooden blade into my side. I stumbled to the side, only for him to kick my gut, then slam his wooden blade into my shoulder, then jabbing my chest, sending me stumbling back. This asshole... I thought, but the whistling of Xeno's blade cut off my thought, then I stepped to the side, dodging his attack, then I thrust my arm forward, slamming my wooden blade into Xeno's cheekbone, sending him spiraling into the air. My eyes widened at my strength. Xeno spun around in the air, recovering his balance, sliding against the ground...it was like that attack didn't even effect him! "Impressive." Xeno said. "Not many people actually manage to throw me off guard." Xeno explained, smirking. "But it won't happen again." Xeno warned, then he dashed at me and began swinging mercilessly. I began dodging, but most of his attacks landed, sending blows to my face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms and legs. He was fast, faster than anyone I've ever fought. Finally, he knocked the wooden blade out of my hand and swung towards my head...but I caught his wooden blade in between my hands. "It's over! You won!" I snapped. Xeno only glared at me. "A battle is never over until one of the opponents fall!" Xeno then snatched his wooden blade out of my hands, then spun around and swung at me, but this time I blocked his attack with my wrist. It only felt like a stick slamming into my wrist, then I slammed my left foot into his chest, sending him stumbling back. Then I dashed forward and grabbed his own blade and yanked it out of his hand, then slammed the hilt into his face. I finally brought my knee up and slammed it into his jaw, then I spun around and slammed my right heel into his left cheekbone, sending him spiraling into the air once more. But again, his recovery was flawless, as he dived down towards me and did a front flip...yes...a fucking front flip, bringing his heel down towards my head...and then everything went black.
The next thing I knew, I woke up in a hospital bed...a medical room, met with a splitting headache. I only sat up and looked at my surroundings...only to see Sarah at the right of me sitting in a chair, and Xeno at the left of me, leaning against a wall. "Welcome back to the land of the living." Xeno stated, staring at me. I only grabbed the side of my head, glaring at him. "You did well for your first spar." Xeno said, staring at me with honest eyes. "No one has given a blow like that to me in a long time...the last person to actually deal a good amount of damage to me was my previous master, Master Naraka." Xeno said, as he walked passed the bed I was in. "Get some rest. Your training is just beginning."
-Two months later, Old Manhattan-
Two months have passed since that painful spar...two long, painful months. However, I have gotten more powerful since then. I've learned several different magics, and I've learned how to summon the Enchanted Weapons and Artifacts when I needed them. From what Xeno has taught me, Black Blood, Artemis and God Killer are now a part of my soul, but Excalibur is a part of Sarah's soul, and I can only summon it if she's alive or near me. At the moment, Xeno, Sarah and I are at Old Manhattan, which had fallen due to the last battle for New York, which apprently occured over a year and half ago. We were on an extermination mission. Our goal was simple: destroy the horde of Souless approaching the gates. We stood just right outside the gates, watching a few dozen Souless marching towards us. "Leon!" Xeno called, I only nodded. "Right!" I then dashed to Sarah and stared into her eyes, Sarah only nodded. I reached towards Sarah's chest as a golden light began to shine...a seal of some sort and my hand fazed right through as I grabbed a handle of some sort...a sword. Then I pulled a short sword out, that was meant for one handed fighting. The hilt was golden, and the blade itself was pure silver with celestial markings carved into it, and it was almost weightless in my hand. Sarah crumpled down to the ground, fainted. I only looked back at the approaching Souless as Xeno summoned his own blade, Lancelot. The hilt of the blade was silver, and the blade itself was red, along with celestial markings on it. It looked almost exactly like my sword, Excalibur. I ran to Xeno's side and pointed Excalibur forward, placing my left hand on my wrist. "Remember what I taught you!" Xeno screamed, glancing at me. I only nodded silently as I watched the Souless spring forward. Both Xeno and I dashed forward, ready for a fight. One of the Souless swiped it's hand towards me, but I grabbed it's wrist and impaled it's chest with Excalibur, making the Souless implode into ash, then I spun around and cut off a different Souless's head, watching it turn into ash as well. Xeno had cut three Souless in half all at once, with his incredible speed. One of the Souless was heading straight for Sarah, my eyes widened at the fact. No...! I silently thought. I let black flames engulf my hand as I shot a blaze of fire forward, engulfing the Souless into flames, watching it screech in pain, as it imploded, leaving nothing but ash. I turned around to see the other Souless fleeing...we had won the battle.
-one month later-
Another month has passed. I had gained a name for myself, due to the lie I had told everyone, because of Xeno's orders. I told them I was an orphan sent by Merlin, which was technically true. It wasn't technically a lie, I just didn't spill the whole truth. Next thing I knew, everyone was calling me the 'Orphan Wolf'. Apparently, the way I wielded a sword was as ferocious as a wolf's bite. That's what I've been hearing anyways. Xeno and I were in the sparring room again, staring each other down with practice katanas. Xeno then dashed at me with full speed, swinging his wooden blade, but I brought up my own blade and blocked his attack, then I pushed him back, then slammed my foot into his gut, then spun around and slammed my heel towards his cheek, but he blocked it with his hands, then sent me spinning into the air, however, I quickly recovered...only to see Xeno flying at me. Flying?! Really?! I spun around, dodging his attack as I landed on the ground, watching him dive at me, but I dodged his second attack, spinning around, slamming the wooden blade into his back. Xeno quickly spun around and thrusted his blade forward, but I smacked his blade out of his hand, then pinned the tip of my blade at the edge of his neck, smirking. "You lose." I said to Xeno. Xeno brought up his hands as a sign of surrender, chuckling. "You've grown more skilled. Impressive." Xeno praised, staring at me. "But you need more than just skill to survive out here." I only shrugged at the comment, and tossed my practice katana away...only to feel the ground shake...an invasion.
