After supper that night, there is a rumoured party in the Pit to celebrate everyone graduating from Stage 2 to Stage 3. I've never been to a Pit party, so I'm pretty excited. Blake and I went out shopping, and each of us bought a sleek little black dress.

"Can I curl your hair, Arielle?" Blake asks, and I agree happily. I love having my hair played with. As Blake curls my hair, I change out my regular silver earrings for diamond stud ones. They're not real diamonds, but they look pretty.

Blake finishes my hair, and I decide to put her hair in two Dutch braids. Her hair is shorter, so the braids just get past the part where her neck and head meet. They're like cute little pigtails, and they look really good on her.

As I look in the mirror at the two of us, I realize this is what I want. This is my new life, and I wouldn't want it any other way. In Erudite, my nose would be in a book right now, studying in order to pass the initiation in Erudite. I have my new family here, and I couldn't ask for anything more. Well, maybe a boyfriend.

A certain guy comes to mind: Eric. I can't believe I would think of Eric, I mean, he's a player, and he doesn't give a shit about anyone else but himself. He's been nothing but cruel to me, but I still look past it all and think of what that beautiful body could do to me. Whoa, Arielle, he would never go for you, get your head out of the gutter!

I look in the mirror, and take in the looks of my body. I have a rounder face, but it is proportioned by my pale pink lips, my long hooked nose, and my sapphire eyes. I have a leaner frame, but I have bigger breasts and a bigger butt, which makes me look way curvier than I am. Eric would never want a curvy girl.

"Hey, Arielle, will these look good?" Blake snaps me out of my thoughts, and I look to where she's pointing: her shoes. They are black flats, and those would be perfect tonight, so I get mine as well.

"Yup, it would be best to wear those so we can dance the night away!" I say excitedly, and Blake laughs at my mock impersonation of a girly girl.

To avoid looking like try-hards, we skip the makeup. As soon as we are finished getting ready, we hear the music begin blasting from the Pit. Blake and I look to each other excitedly.

"Let's go!" I tell her, and we half walk half jog down to the Pit, which is currently filled with people. There are drinks everywhere, and people dancing, just enjoying the night. Looks like I'm getting hammered again.

We make our way to the bar where we find Connor, Meg, Zac, Cole, and Sterling. Meg smiles gratefully; I'm sure the boys were getting rowdy.

With a drink in hand, we all head to the dance floor. I sip on my drink, and sway my body to the beat, specifically my hips. Meg, Blake and I are the ones hardcore dancing, the boys are just here to keep the tramps away, and it's hilarious. To the naked eye, it looks like three girls dancing their hearts outs, but the boys are around us like a protection circle, warding off any guy that comes too close. This is why I love my friends: we always look out for each other.

The song changes, to a slower one, just for couples, so I get off the dance floor and refill my drink. Cole and Blake are dancing, as well as Meg and Connor. The two cutest couples in initiation. I look a little more, and find Sterling dancing with none other than Hayley, the girl from Zeke's party. If I recall correctly, she was with Uriah. Go Sterling! I do a little more looking, and I see Eric up above on a balcony overlooking the dance. But he isn't watching the couples like I was, he's watching me. I blush, and look away before I embarrass myself.

"The lone wolves of the gang, you and me." Zac says, coming up behind me and sits on the barstool beside me.

"Yup." I chuckle. I look down to my drink, and I realize this is only my second drink of the night, wow.
