Alesa woke up to feeling Adam's arms tighten around her. She opens her eyes, hearing his breathing pick up.

"A-Adam?" She said. She looks behind her, feeling him move his face into her back. "Adam! Wake up!" Alesa detaches his grip around her and turns around, shaking him. Adam's eyes open and she stops. Adam looks at Alesa. "It was just a nightmare. That's it." Adam rests his head back on her shoulder. "Adam...Can we talk?"

"About what?" Adam mumbled, not moving.

"Don't get upset or anything but....is what happen to Barney made afraid to go offensive?" Alesa asks. Sky flinches, not really expecting her to ask that.

"I-I...." Sky trailed off. Alesa looks at him, she touches his cheek with her hand.

"You know you can tell me anything, Sky. Go ahead." Alesa said. Sky met her eyes, he stared into them for a while. He buries his face into the crook of her neck, he grips her shirt in his hands.

"It's my fault anyway. The death count is getting to me. I can't take telling family members why their son or daughter or husband or wife isn't coming home anymore." He said, his voice shaky as tears roll down his cheeks. She slips her arms around him and rubs his back.

"But you aren't winning anything with this defense plan. You are losing support with it, Adam. Hun..Look at me." Alesa said. Adam looks at her. Her hand touches his cheek, she pecks a kiss on his lips. "Adam." He kisses her nose, resting his head on her shoulder again. She puts her hand in his soft hair. They hear a knock at the door, Adam groans, not wanting to get up. Alesa smiles slightly, amused. There's knocking again. Adam gets up, groaning annoyed. He slips back on a dark grey t-shirt and walks downstairs. He was about to open it when he stops, knocking comes again, but it more persistent. Sky takes a step back, he grabs his sword off the couch, slipping on his sneakers, and hears the door open behind him. Sky looks behind him, he sidesteps out of the way of a squid launching at him. The squid hits the way and Sky slices one in half as it jumps at him.

"Stay upstairs!" Sky yelled when he saw Mason at the top of the steps. A squid jumps on Sky's back. Sky slams his back against the wall and  the squid tightens its tentacles around Adam's neck. Adam grits his teeth, a squid grabs his leg and arm, making him drop his sword. 'There's too many of them!' Adam thought to himself. Adam sees the squids go upstairs. Adam kicks one of the squids. "Alesa! M-Mason! Arggh!" A net shoots at Adam, wrapping around him and making him fall on floor.

"Dad!" Mason shouted. Alesa tries to go pass Mason but he grabs her. "No, mom! Stay behind me!" A knee goes on Adam's neck and Adam grits his teeth. His looks above him. His eyes widen. The Squid King smirks at him.

"H-How?" Adam asks. His limps get pinned to the floor by tentacles. He sees the King hold his sword.

"Oh, Commander Sky, you have lost your touch." the Squid King said. Adam flinched, groaning as he felt the King stab him in the chest. Adam screams when he pulls it out, Mason's eyes widen watching his dad get stabbed again and again. Mason grips his sword in his hand.

"No!" Alesa cried. The Squid King leaves the sword buried in Adam's chest as he gets up, turning to Mason. He chuckles. Alesa runs pass Mason, falling to her knees beside Adam in tears. "Adam...Adam!" The squids cleared out, Alesa gets up, grabbing a knife from the kitchen while Mason stood frozen. Alesa starts cutting the rope net off of Sky. "Adam, wake up hun! Please don't die on me!" She pushes against Adam's wounds, not pulling out the sword in his chest. "Mason! Come over here! Help me!" Tears fell down her cheeks, Sky's skin was pale as a ghost and his breathing was so shallow that you would think he was dead. Mason snapped out of his trance and ran over to them. He ripped offs part of his shirt. He yanks out the sword making Alesa gasps. "NO! That will kill him!" Mason wrapped Adam's chest, his wounds bleeding profusely. Mason grabs Alesa's arms.

"Mom! Mom! Calm down! I know it could! I can't carry him with a sword in him, I need you to stay here! I'm taking Dad to the Sky Army base, stay here! I'll send some--"

"No! I'm coming with him! He--He needs me!" Alesa cries. Mason throws his dad over his shoulder and stands up, running outside and Alesa follows. She unites Mason's horse and helps get Adam up. Mason turns his horse around, towards the Sky Army, and takes off.
