| Chapter Sixteen | Familiar Faces {Inshire}

Jason woke up in a daze, his head hurt a lot and he heard a voice talking to him. No, not to him, to someone else. The voice wasn't familiar at all, Jason moved. He groaned a little, hearing chains moving when he did. His eyes opened, his vision blurred but once it cleared, he saw iron bars. 'Where am I?' Jason thought.

"Thank goodness." A different voice said. Jason flinched, looking around. His eyes landed on someone he recognizes. They smile. "I thought Adam might have killed you by mistake, he has a tendency to do that." Jason's eyes widen a little.

"J-Jordan?" Jason stuttered. Jordan smiles at Jason.

"Yeah. Jordan Sparklez. I'm guessing that's different from the Jordan you know." He said. Jason stared at Jordan. He was different, but not by much. The only differences are his green sunglasses, brown eyes and have a dark brown jacket on. Jordan also has his right arm wrapped in tattered clothing and his left hand was under his jacket.

"What happened to you?" Jason asks. Jordan loses his smile and looks away.

"I got myself in trouble....like usual. But I'm okay..mostly. How's the order? Are they okay?" Jordan asks. Jason bites his bottom lip back, not knowing how to answer. Jordan looks at the floor. "I see...But hey...I think I figured it out. I know you haven't been here long, but...look behind you. Is she familiar?" Jason looks behind him, he sees a girl in chains, she is unconscious and hurt too.

"No. Who is she?" Jason asks.

"Before all this Squid takeover took place, that girl, was Commander Adam's girlfriend. Felicia Smoke, no one has heard from her since the takeover happened--"

"Do you think the King is using her against Adam? That's why he is following every order given?" Jason asks as he looked at Jordan. Jordan nods.

"I mean, I bet that is a factor. But....the Commander was a hero, Jason. He actually use to be a friend of mine, Alesa's too--"

"Alesa?" Jason asks. Jordan nods.

"Didn't she tell you what happened? She was with the Commander when the takeover happened." Jordan said. Jason shook his head.

"No. It still blows my mind that Adam is the villain in this world. But when I think about it, it makes sense that he would be if this world is supposed to be opposite of mine. I can't picture Sky taking orders from the Squid King, ever." Jason said.

"I think James--"

"Don't say things that aren't any of your business." A voice spoke. Jason sees Adam open the door and walk over to Jason. Squids undo the chains and Jason can see Adam looking at Felicia a lot. Adam grabs Jason's arm and yanks him to his feet.

"Adam, wait. Listen to me, we can get Felicia out safety if you just help us. She won't get hurt, you have my word." Jason said. Adam stared at Jason, he puts his sword against Jason's neck. Jason moves his back against the bars as the cold metal touched his neck.

"James has brainwashed him, Jason. It's hopeless." Jordan said. Jason sees Adam's eyes look at Jordan. Adam's grip on his sword tightens.

"Commander, let's go." A squid said. Adam kicks the squid making it hit the bars.

"Shut up!" Adam shouted. Adam grabs a fistful of Jason's shirt and yanked him out of the cell and into the wall. Jason winces feeling pain flare up in his shoulder when he hit the wall. Jordan sees Felicia flinched. She turns her head, looking at Adam. Her eyes water and she covers her face with her hands. Jason looks over at her.

"Felicia, say something to him!" Jason said. Adam rolls his eyes. He looks at Felicia as their eyes met.

"Got something to say?" Adam asks. Felicia shakes her head and looks at the floor in front of her. Adam chuckles and pushes Jason forwards, at sword-point. Jason walks through, stealing glances here and there. He recognizes a few people here and there. Jason looks at the Commander's red eyes, finding them unfamiliar. 'He looks and sounds like Sky. But he acts nothing like Sky. His eyes, they're unsettling and cold. What happened to him? This cannot be him, I refuse to believe it is' Jason thought. Jason hears his name get called. Adam smirks, grabbing Jason's arm. He pushes his sword in Jason's lower back and pushes him outside to see three figures have beaten up and unconscious. Jason's eyes widen, the figures were tied by their wrist up in a tree with blood staining their clothes and arrows sticking out of one of them. Adam moves his sword out on Jason's neck and grins. "Are these three familiar to you? We found them a day ago, had to beat them up to make sure they behaved but they will not be waking up for a while."

"S-Seto...Mason, Mitch." Jason stuttered.
