"You want something? Food?" Alesa asked. Ian didn't look at her. Ian is locked up in chains, his hand hidden under his jacket, dry blood making his shirt shades darker. Alesa fidgeted slightly. She touched the bars. "Ian...If you just tell them that—"

"They won't listen, Alesa," Ian said.

"Mitchell won't. You and I know that Mitchell isn't the most rational person, his alternate and Barney will listen." Alesa said. Ian looks at her. Alesa gripped the bars. "Is Adam okay?" Ian shakes his head.

"No...No he isn't. The Squid King is always using him as a punching bag. I know he only takes it so no one else will get hurt. And seeing how he didn't come back, worries me." Ian said.

"You think you are that special?" Inshire Max asks. Alesa turns, looking at the cell behind her.

"Shut up Max," Alesa said. Max laughs, looking at Ian.

"Ian, we all are replaceable. It is Adam that the King wants to keep his hands on. If he loses Adam than he'll lose the fear he created through the citizens. Not to forget Miranda of course." Max said. Ian looked away, he winces, his hand gripping his side. Fresh blood staining his shirt, Alesa grabbed the bars, worried. Ian took in a deep breath, he shook his head.

"N-No...It's James...That bridge spell did something to him. I've noticed it, A-Adam did as well, Miranda..not so much but whatever t-that spell did, he is as far from rational as you can get." Ian said. Alesa turned more towards Ian.

"He doesn't seem that way," Alesa said. Ian looks at her.

"It's an act, Alesa. H-He's very good at manipulating and deceiving people. I-I've seen what the spell has turned him into....and I...I don't th-think he can recover from the spell's effects." Ian said.

"Ares you sure?" Barney asks coming beside Alesa. Alesa looks at him.

"Barney, what are you—"

"Don'ts yous remember James before that spell?" Barney asks Alesa. Alesa nods.

"Yeah, he was really nice and worked with us. But, once he did that bridge spell, he changed." Alesa said. Barney looked at Ian.

"Yours bleeding," Barney said. He walks away and grabs the keys. Alesa looked at Ian. Ian's skin is paler than normal, his eyes closed and panting softly. Barney unlocks the cell and Alesa goes in, running down beside Ian. Alesa moves Ian's jacket, Ian's hand stained red with blood, her eyes widen.

"Ian, why didn't you say anything?!" Alesa shouted. She looks at Barney. "Help me, he needs to be treated—"

"Treatment isn't for the prisoners," Mitchell said. Alesa looks at Mitchell. Mitchell meets her eyes. "Who cares if he dies?" Alesa stood, Barney, grabbing her arm as she almost lunged at Mitchell.

"No! Nos. That won't solves anything." Barney said. Alesa stared at Mitchell.

"He is a victim, Mitchell. He helped the citizens, kept them safe and kept Adam in check. But also took care of Adam—"
