I already met the contestants and so far so good. Lahat may attitude compare sa batch ko. Why good? Kasi nalalabas ko pagkamaldita ko.
" And for your next activity, see those fabrics? I want you to make any dress using only that given fabric. Also with the help of limited needles and treads." naka ngiti kong say sakanila.
I can hear their commotions. Well, I already expected that. Panu ba naman kasi, 3 yards of fabric lang yun and limited kung limited na sinulid and karayum. And to make things more interesting, may gagawin pa ko mamaya.
" And to put some flavor in your activity. You need to finish that within 1 hour." and again, sabay sabay silang nag react.
" 1 hour? Do you think we can finish that in an hour? And why? We still have a lot of time!" say nung Italianong babae na kahapon ko pa nasasampulan.
" Try to be a good listener dear. Yes. 1 hour. And it's not my problem if you didn't make it in the given time frame. That only means that you are not a good designer. And why 1 hour? Because I hate waiting." I can't stop myself from smiling irritatingly. Aangal pa sana sila kaya lang,
" Timer starts now." then I pressed the timer. I turned my back and walk. Let's see if they can handle the pressure.
While they are working, some are requesting " Please give us an extention. At least 30 minutes!". Di ko naman sila pinapansin. I continued taking stolen shot of them working.
Yung iba, may sta-start na mag cut while yung iba is nag-iisip pa din. " 55 minutes remaining!" pang-aasar ko. Kung nakakamatay lang yung tingin nila, patay na ko. But unfortunately for them, hindi.
The reason why I came up with this activity is to test their ability to work under pressure. Kailangan kasi nila yun if ever sila yung mananalo. Nung nanalo kasi ako, double yung nareceive kung orders kaya kailan ngayon pa lang, prepared na sila.
Second is, I know everyone of you is already aware na kakaiba yung rules nila dito. Parang, everything is possible. And that is the exact thing na mangyayari and mafe-feel nila after 1 hour. And last reason is, wala na kong maisip. Naisip na kasi ng iba.
" 10 minutes left." I reminded them. " Make sure that everything is clean before I press the timer to stop!" dagdag pressure ko sakanila. Ang kalat kasi.
Among this 10 contestants, only 5 of them make a decent dress. Half of them lang. Panu ba na-nominate tong mga to? Dami daming designer dyan ee.
" 3 minutes! Clean your station or else I will give you a pie on your score!" and click. Watta faces, Hahahaha!
Di nila alam na pinipicturan ko sila habang gumagawa. And since na magaling akong photographer, I made sure that I only capture their annoying face which I will show to my little surprise powerpoint presentation during the event. And that's not my only surprise.
" Time is up. Put down everything. and stand over their." sabay turo ko dun sa corner.
Magkakatabi yung mga gawa nila. Good. Hindi na ko mahihirapan.
I asked someone from the organization to take pictures while Im giving them another instruction. I grab a scissor and stand beside their works.
" While all of you are busy making this dress, some of you asked something right? What was that?" sabay tingin ko sa lalaki na humihingi ng request.
" Time extention." sagot niya.
" Good, and since you asked for it, I will give you addition 30 minutes to finish this." then I started to cut their works.
