House Call

Chapter 6: Secret's Revealed

Percy's POV

We had just arrived in my city!! Wyatt had put his last bag in the back of the truck we rented and hopped in the front seat. I was beaming with joy. This was the first time Wyatt had been here and I was super excited to show him my hometown.

"You ready baby?" I asked him.
He put on his seat belt, plugged in the aux cord and said "Let's hit it!"

We drove around for about an hour and I showed him some of the places I used to hang out at with all my friends back in the day. We stopped by my old high school and took pics, ran into old neighbors and even picked up a few bottles for the house.

When we pulled up to my parents' house, I could see Wyatt in my peripheral smiling and gazing with excitement. I put in my code and the gates opened, it was  about a half- mile driveway that led up to the house and it was lined with big beautiful trees. The house was two stories with a porch that went all the way around. It sat on just about 6 acres of land and was almost full of fruit trees that went around the entire property; modern brown finishes and huge picture windows, bricked chimneys and a rose garden which was the prided work of my mother.

"I am so excited to be home!" I said squeezing my baby's hand.

"This is going to be so much fun! I've been dying for this for months!" 

I was certain that he'd been looking forward to this trip with more excitement than me, and the thought drove me wild. This man loved me so much that he was crazy about meeting my entire family.

"Yeah I'm about to show you how us country boys get down." I said

As I parked mom and dad came out the front door and of course the rest of the clan followed. My big sister Patrice( 9 months older), Alexandria (1 year younger), Amelia(2 years younger) and Jordan(3 years younger)  with their husbands and kids. This was going to be a turnt up family reunion! Wyatt and I hopped out the truck and were swarmed with hugs and kisses from the entire clan, and of course Wyatt got most of the love.

"Come here baby and give momma some suga!"
My mom Caroline said.

I turned around with arms wide open thinking she was talking to me only to find my man in her arms practically smothered to death. My dad just laughed and patted me on the back, Wyatt was covered in lipstick when she was done. No sight could have been cuter to see.

My sister Patrice came up to shake Wyatt's hand. "We are so excited to finally meet you! Mom and dad haven't stopped bragging about the doctor we have in the family!"

He pushed her hand aside and gave her a big bear hug.
"Oh Patrice I've been dying to meet you all too. I've planned my whole year around this." He said.

He was smiling from ear to ear and beaming with joy.
The whole family took a moment to smile in ahh.
After we got our welcome from everyone, we went inside to have some drinks and hang out. My brother-in- laws and I went out back to enjoy some cigars while Wyatt and the ladies had some fun in the kitchen.

"How's nursing school treating you so far P?" Terry asked.

Patrice's husband Terry was a Nurse Practitioner with his own practice here in South Carolina. He actually helped me get into nursing school.

I took a sip of my Hennessy. "Kicking my ass. Between being in the field and clinical, I honestly don't know how I wake up some days. But with all the books and notes you gave me and plus all of Wyatt's help, I'm sure I'll be done by next year no doubt."

"That's good! You know if you need anything let me know. But then again, with a doctor in your back pocket, you probably don't even need my help, shit..." he said laughing
