Percy's POV
You know that feeling when you try to wake up but you can't, you're just sitting there trying to shake the feeling, all while knowing that what you're seeing and feeling isn't real?
Well that's far from what I felt. This dream was the one where even thought I knew it wasn't real, I knew that soon it would be. See, I was dreaming of my wedding day and man, when I tell you that that shit was absolutely perfect. It was beyond lit!
It went a little something like this...
"Boy, if you don't get up! We've been knocking on this door for about 5 minutes now!" I heard a voice say.
I woke up with no one other than my hubby to be on my mind and then it hit me. The knocking on the door, the tux hanging on the rack, my favorite flowers all around our master bedroom... Today was my wedding day! So you know that I hurried and jumped and got my ass outta bed. I started wiping the sleep out of my eyes and in the midst, I somehow got a whiff of my funky ass morning breath, and that shit was foul!!
I opened the door and saw my pops and Terrance at the door in their tuxes.
"Good Morning Fellas!"
The look on their faces were priceless when they saw that I had on nothing but a tank and a pair of boxer briefs. And I didn't even give two fucks, because Wyatt was about take my last damn name; the thought of that made my dick jump. I guess the company at the door noticed, because they both jumped back a but and looked at each other. We shared a good laugh and then came in to help me get ready.
"Ok, look before y'all say anything. The tux is over there, Wyatt had it dry cleaned so we aint gotta worry about ironing it. Im about to hop in the shower and then rod will be here to give me my fresh cut and then we can head to the venue."
My dad looked like he wasn't having any of it. "Now why the hell are you getting your haircut now? You should have done that shit yesterday!"
Terrance's black ass couldn't help but to chime in. " I be trying to talk sense into his pops, but the boy is hard headed."
I flicked him off and plead my case to pops, but he still wasn't buying the shit that I was selling. So I jumped in the shower real quick and got the funk up off of me and washed my hair. When I got out, I had my clothes and shoes all by the bed. My tux was a cream and so were my shoes. The vest was suede burgundy and you know the tie was matching. I was gonna look fly. And to top it off my baby got me the Christian Louboutin's I had been eyeing for months! That boy always went out his way to make me happy.
Once I was done with my haircut, I got dressed and headed downstairs to meet up with everyone.
"GODDAMN, that boy is sharp!" My dad said smiling with pride.
"Haha, come on pops, now you know... us Whitaker always step in style."
He bent down to look at my shoes. "Boy, you gonna have to let me borrow them bad boys right there!"
"For $1,300.00 you can."
Terrance came over and looked at them too. "He actually got them? Yo, that husband of yours is sneaky bro. You know we went to that damn store and spent about and hour debating on whether or not he was going to drop the cash, I tried to talk him out of it and then he agreed after arguing with my for about 15 minutes. We left and he said he was just going to go to Macy's, he got me good!"
We all had to laugh at that. Me mostly because he does it to me all the time. He'll give in just to shut me up and then still end up with what he wants. Moments of laughs went by and then the other fellas rolled through, all my friends from high school and the neighborhood flew out for the wedding. It felt good to be an openly gay man, in love and being surrounded and supported by the people you love most.
